Greetings,
I'm working on my first real DW:AITAS game and after some thought I decided to go with a Torchwood themed game. I have some of the basics set up in my head and I figured writing them down would help me think. I decided to write them down here to see what you guys thought.
(Quick confession - I'm borrowing a lot from Warehouse 13 for this game, since it takes place in the USA and there isn't a lot of room for a British secret agency on US soil)
TW5 started as a joint venture between the United States of America and Britain to investigate alien activities in the states.
The original team was made up with both American and British members.
It is noted as the only autonomous branch of Torchwood and does not report to the queen.
Being autonomous it also does not have and official Torchwood number, but rather the letter X.
Torchwood X is governed by a group of 6, shall we say "special", individuals referred to as the "regents" (more on them later).
3 years before the current date I major earthquake destroyed the original Torchwood X hub. Paired with the mysterious disappearance of every active member and 3 regents (more on that later) big changes were to be made.
Though the regents were quickly replaced (the is a list of potential regents kept just in case) the hub and the team members were not so quick to come by.
The new hub is located in the basement levels of the Chicago Spire (this is fiction remember).
As I said, the game has yet to begin, so there isn't a team yet.
Though I do know how they'll all be introduced to one another and the job.
I plan for them to get an envelope giving them GPS coordinates in the middle of a field outside of Chicago. When they get there they are introduced to each other. It just starts to unexpectedly rain when a mysterious stranger, who just happens to have come with an umbrella, approaches them and explains the basic lay out of what is to come. A basic "Come with me to horizons unknown or stay here and get wet" type of thing.
I'm still working on the episode ideas, I kinda wantr to get a feel for the team first before I plan out anything.
Thoughts? Comments? Questions?
