This is a little different than just the RPG that I'm doing. Esentially, I am creating a Torchwood LARP using the DWAITAS as a jumping board. Obviously a lot of things won't transfer over, but I'm trying to come up with a format that would work, and a general template for writing up our adventures. So far my ideas are as follows...
1. Class system: Yes I intend on having a class system but much different than what you think. Having stats is basically useless in a LARP and therefore a class system is needed to keep track of abilities. I have Doctor, Hacker, Scientist, Fighter, Medic, Programer, Detective and Marksman. I'm still in the first stages mind you, but those are the general ones I could think of.
2. Airsoft: Although my games are generally going to be centered around mystery solving and detective work, there will be points when action is needed, and there's no sonic screwdriver in this game. We will be using airsoft guns to give a nice look and feel to the action. We'll mainly be going on the honor system when it comes to hits and such, but it is most satisfying to hold a gun in your hand that looks like a real one (in the game ^_^).
3. A ten person crew: Essentially my idea was for there to be TWO GM's, one for the PC's and one for the NPC's. The GM for the PC's are in charge of keeping the players on track and the story flowing, as well as looking for cheating and being a general guide. The GM for the NPC's is the leader behind the scenes, making sure that the NPC's have what they need, are doing what they should, and are obeying the rules. They play actor, villain and ally in many different ways. The GM for the PC's plays the leader of that torchwood team, and the GM for the NPC's plays any character and inevitably the main villain. But wait! There's more! The PC's and GM for PC's after one adventure, switch and become NPC's and vice versa for the next adventure! That way, everyone get's to be the hero, and the villian!
So if you have anything to expand or add, I would love to know, cause I'm needing some help. ;D
