Around here we've got an annual gaming convention that lasts three days (first weekend of June), and I was quite surprised that no one ran a Doctor Who game this year. I was going to do one, but there wasn't enough time to do one up, and the one I was running too. I was also unsure that 400 gamers actually knew much about Doctor Who. I proposed it afterwards, and found that there were a few people familiar with, but not truly knowledgeable about the series.
At any rate, this is my adventure seed for the game. The space-time vortex is degenerating due to so much influx of timey-whimey stuff. You have the Time Lords vs Daleks, you have the 10th Doctor regenerating and coming back exactly the same because he transferred it all to his disembodied hand, Rose and the 9th Doctor absorbing the TARDIS energy (more so Rose), (spoiler for those that haven't watched Impossible Astronaut) you have the 11th Doctor dying and being unable to regenerate, you have the 8th Doctor turning out to be half-human (let's not go there), the Master was brought back through a ritual gone wrong, Jack being brought back to life, all those cracks like the ones in Amy's bedroom from the TARDIS exploding, and you have the 4th Doctor nearly having his TARDIS being destroyed by the space-time vortex during one of his escapades (novels).
With no time lords around other than the Doctor, one can only guess what'll happen. Basically all of existence is being erased, including the whole of the universe. However, only the Doctors (4, 9, 10, 11), Rose, Jack, and K-9 seem to be unaffected. At least for the moment. No one knows, but with four doctors, they can probably come up with a snazzy idea as to why it is.
Because of these cracks and displacements, some things are being brought back to life, or rather they're being brought back into existence. Like the Daleks and the Emperor that Rose destroyed. With this power going awry, the Daleks want to harness it so that they can truly rewrite time and space so that the Daleks are the only race in existence (I know it's been kind of done before with the Daleks wanting to be the only race, but why not?).
The Daleks build a machine to control the tears and influx of energy (think Glitch from Reboot) so they can at least protect their own race from being wiped out by what's happening.
This means that the Doctors and their companions have to save all of time and existence before they're erased, all while taking on the same Daleks that nearly killed the 9th Doctor in Bad Wolf.
What do you guys think? I'm trying to keep it down to around 6 PCs (K-9 would be NPCed or someone would play both). I was thinking of having the human 10th Doctor with only one heart, but decided that it wouldn't be necessary, and didn't want to bring in the whole of the universe and all of the dimensions being in flux too. I would if this wasn't a one-shot, but it's supposed to be something that can be played in a three-hour time slot.
