Ok... I am sorry if I am posting in the wrong thread. I am a new GM running a new game for the first time. A player wants to run a Timelord and has requested 3 gadet (2 major gadets and a minor gadget). The Story Points are available.
What is the general rule of thumb (if it exists) if they are allowed to have those? Do you other gamemasters allow the characters to spend the story points if they are available? It will give them an advantage of course over the other players since they are humans.
Just looking for advice for a newbie GM
Tks!

Unless the gadgets are going to be a problem with your campaigns master plan, I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to have their gadgets. They are a Time Lord, after all. Don't forget to give them their free gadget for being a Time Lord.
If them having so many gadgets troubles you, you always have the power to say "No, I don't feel this will fit well with the campaign I have planned." Also, something I've come up with is handing out the gadets during the course of their adventures. However, in the end, it's always your choice.

If they won't overpower the game, a number of Gadgets is generally okay. Depending on what ideas the player has, THIS THREAD FOR GADGET IDEAS could help.
