Does anyone have any Dinosaur adventure ideas?
I've just decided I want to use dinosaurs.
I thought of adapting the Pertwee story, but I'd prefer to set it in pre-historic times. Maybe the TARDIS crew try to rescue stranded aliens. Or maybe the stranded aliens have decided they want to stay on Earth, which could upset the time-lines.

I believe there is a Primeval game in the making from Cubicle 7 using the same RPG system as DWAITAS [or George] which could make this sort of game real easy. *edit here's that thread

In the meantime, I borrowed an unmade episode idea to have a Tyrannosaur rampaging around occupied Paris (and a Luftwaffe pilot stuck in the Cretaceous) in my Doctor Who PBP on RPGnet. An attempt by the Nazis to use alien technology to affect history. I haven't statted the T-Rex out, he's more a situational threat than something to be tackled head-on.

I think I am going to run with the aliens trapped in pre-historic times idea as one of my early adventures in 2011. PCs turn up and find a Time-Agent who was tracking the rogue aliens but they attacked him and he barely escaped. I was thinking a young bungling Time Agent who doesn't really know what he is doing.
Anyway, I'm now trying to decide on the aliens to use; Terileptils or Sycorax.
Terileptils. I love The Visitation. In this scenario the Terileptils will have created some Robot Dinosaurs as guards - as is real dinosaurs running around was not dangerous enough. PCs would probably end up re-programming the Robots to fight the Terileptils.
Sycorax. Use Blood Control to control the dinosaurs as guards. PCs can mess this up by destroying the Blood control device.

I'ld be tempted to run evil alien invaders v Homo reptilia in this time period

Sycorax would stand out from their surroundings a bit more, I think. But I also think they're a bit footnote-y to merit a return appearance. I'd make something up personally - something that looks immediately out of place in the prehistoric world, like glowing aliens with gleaming robotic probes. Click for Silurians versus Ice Warriors!

Well I've decided to go ahead with this adventure, even moving up to the first adventure of my series (Weeping Angels will have to wait).
I am going with Sycorax because I like the idea of them using Blood Control to control some of the lesser Dinosaurs, even using them as mounts. So not having time to wait for Primeval RPG here are the few stats I've come up with. I don't need mega-detailed write-ups but would like to know what people think.
The Setting is Upper Cretaceous period, around 65 million years ago in the American region. All but the Stegosaurus fits that, the Stegosaurus actually being Upper Jurassic, but I don't think a few little details like that will get noticed.
Tyrannosaurus Rex Awareness 2 Coordination 1 Ingenuity 1 Presence 2 Resolve 2 Strength 14
Survival 4 Fighting 4
Traits Armour Tough hide β reduce all damage by 10, L becomes Damage 10. Fast For short periods (5 combat rounds) Fear Factor 6 Natural Weapons Teeth damage +2
Thescelosaurus up to 3.5M tall biped. Will be used as beasts of burden for Sycorax. Awareness 4 Coordination 3 Ingenuity 1 Presence 1 Resolve 2 Strength 7
Survival 2 Fighting 2
Traits Fast Fear Factor 3 Natural Weapons Teeth damage +2
Stegosaurus Used as beasts of burden for Sycorax Leader. Awareness 2 Coordination 2 Ingenuity 1 Presence 1 Resolve 2 Strength 10
Survival 5 Fighting 2
Traits Armour Tough hide β reduce all damage by 10, L becomes Damage 10. Slow Fear Factor Natural Weapons Tail, anyone behind can be attacked by itβs tail, damage +2
Brachiosaurus Huge herbivores. Awareness 4 Coordination 1 Ingenuity 1 Presence 2 Resolve 1 Strength 16
Survival 3 Fighting 2
Traits Armour Tough hide β reduce all damage by 10, L becomes Damage 10. Slow
Troodon Small biped, about 2m tall. Carnivorous. Will be used a a threat ina group od 2-3. Awareness 4 Coordination 4 Ingenuity 1 Presence 2 Resolve 2 Strength 5
Survival 3 Fighting 5
Traits Fast Fear Factor 2 Natural Weapons Bite damage +1
Diceratops These look very similar to a Triceratops and were herbivores. Awareness 2 Coordination 2 Ingenuity 1 Presence 1 Resolve 2 Strength 10
Survival 3 Fighting 4
Traits Armour Tough hide. Reduce damage by 5 Slow Fear Factor 3 Natural Weapons Beak-like mouth, damage +2

Prehistoric monsters! Personally, I'd increase the T-Rex's Coordination to 2 - after all, it is a top predator, and a very low Coord impacts on its Fighting ability (or are you going with the scavenger theory?). I'd also reduce the T-Rex's and Brachiosaurus's Armour to 5 points of damage reduction - they don't have any specific heavy armour like the Stegosaurus's plates - and I'd give those dinosaurs without Armour a level of Toughness for 2 points of damage reduction - thick leathery skin and all that. Just my suggestions. But top marks - have some Karma!
