Im not that concerned honestly, this happens with books all the time, if anything our complaining is only going to frustrate them even more or drive new players away from the system. Give it time, sure it would be nice to have the gencon stuff to tide us over but one way or another lets keep faith and be patient.

I'm afraid I disagree.
If there's a way to kill a game through lack of support I think DWAITAS would win a prize.
Sure, people here will still play and generate their own stuff, but new players won't be attracted to a line like this.
And no new players = dead game = lost license.

I think that prize still belongs to the Buffy RPG, but agreed. Silence from the game company is never a good thing.
Hey, could THIS be The Silence?

The guys at our club have now ditched Doctor Who RPG too in favour of supported RPGs, mainly Pathfinder.
Personally I don't need new material, I think I've already said that I still play WEGs Star Wars D6. But if the rest of the group have been put off there's nothing I can do. And C7 need to realise that this isn't just going to affect Doctor Who. Several guys have already expressed concerns about buying ANY C7 games due to their lack of support to existing games.
I love C7 products but at the moment they are not endearing themselves to the gaming community.

There's definitely a sense of the tumbleweed tumbling past on these boards. A feeling of pending mortality.

If it's fun and it works, what difference does it make if you don't get new books if the ones you have are more than enough to do the job? Weird.

I don't really get that attitude. If it's fun and it works, what difference does it make if you don't get new books if the ones you have are more than enough to do the job? Weird. Flavour of the month. Plus most of the gamers I know are also collectors. Collecting is as much of the RPG hobby as the playing. New games are coming out and players want to try out that new game/suppliment. Pathfinder has a constant flow of suppliments and by some accounts is now the #1 selling RPG. I seriously doubt that would be the case if they'd just released two books. Gamers appreciate a game being supported. So I think there's a little dig at the publisher there, basically, "If you don't support your game then why should we play it?" And that is a sentiment I fully understand. And it's not just Doctor Who, Hackmaster is the same, although they have started moving things forward the last month or so with adventures and the Hacklopedia of Beasts. What about C7's Starblazer Adventures? A Fantastic RPG but with only a couple of suppliments; I own it but know no one who plays it or wants to. Call of Cthulhu has numerous suppliments from different companies and is going strong. Star Wars in any form, other than a few hardcore fans can you seriously say these are still played a lot? No, not really. But I'm sure Star Wars RPG will be flavour of the month again when FFG release their new game. My club plays a lot of Warhammer 40K and everyone plays 5th Edition; despite all the "but X edition was better" complaints no one plays the older editions. Sure there are some great old games, but understand it or not it's a fact that a lot more players play the newer supported games opposed to older unsupported ones.

IMO the best source book for any game is ones imagination [/quote] Well that's the entire publishing industry finished. ;D C7 are really starting to get a bad rep for releases. What happened to Primeval and The One Ring? Were we not given the excuse at one time C7 were busy working on The One Ring, well they've missed that release date too. No, we don't NEED any books, much as you don't NEED a car, expensive clothes or a computer. C7 need to get their marketing right and stop making promises they cannot keep, that's the issue. I find it all very unprofessional.

I find the lack of support to be much more the norm than not, but then again I don't play the big name games like D&D and Pathfinder.

I guess it's the 'or so' because I've just had this weeks mailshot of releases from Gameslore, IGUK and 13th floor and, surprise, surprise, no sign of The One Ring, Primeval or Doctor Who.

DWAITAS is 'supposed to be Nov/Dec' release so I would have expected to see a firm release DATE by now as we're into October.
If it's going to come out before Xmas....

Is it just me or does that fact that series 6 just ended and they haven't even gotten the series 5 update out seem a bit stupid? Now I find myself askin, so when does the series 6 update come out? After series 7 ends?

I remember chat on the board about the second Doctor supplement. I think my expectations are more modest now. If they can get the two announced supplements out before the end of next year I will be relieved. Echo what is said about new players. I loved Tennant but new players are going to assume the game is a dead duck if all they see in the stores is the tenth Doctor version of the game and no game screen.

And if they miss a Christmas release the marketing guys need to to flung into a Time Eddy.

So, another week gone by with no date on release.
If this was going to be here in November, we would know a date by now..
So we keep our fingers crossed for December...

The One Ring is very marvellous though Except the first 2 or 3 pages of my GM guide were creased. That was in a sealed product. Poor C7. Very poor.
