C7 has the 11th Doctor set up for pre-order [with a $10 discount through this weekend] Discount is £5 if paying by pounds sterling (lower due to VAT). Print version should be available late May, possibly slipping into June. Pdf will be distributed to pre-orders as soon as available - currently undergoing final prep. I can't believe it's finally happening! My order's in already.

This is wonderful news. I really hope that it breathes some new life into the game. It would be great to see some new faces here on the forums.

I'm also hoping that now we will see a tidal wave of products coming up for pre-order -- all the stuff C7 has been working on (behind-the-scenes) during the lull between the initial launch and now

Is there a complete re-work of the layout? Will there still be pictures included of the Tenth Doctor or will this new set be based upon Matt Smith the way the earlier box was based on David Tennant?

Is there a complete re-work of the layout? Will there still be pictures included of the Tenth Doctor or will this new set be based upon Matt Smith the way the earlier box was based on David Tennant? Exactly. All the imagery and content is based upon the first season of Matt Smith. This means only pictures from Series 5 and all the characters, monsters and so on are based on series 5 info. This is intentional as the license requires Matt Smith only for the Core Box, and Series Six and later material will materialize in an 'Eleventh Doctor' series box, in the same format as the other Doctor Boxes. There will be plenty of material from the old and new series in the TTC , the UNIT and the Doctor Boxes, at least that's the plan as far as I know it...

Thanks, pertwee! That's very helfpul information for me. One more thing though: I'm not sure that I get this right: there will be "Doctor Boxes" as expensions somewhere down the line? That'd be great. I just had heard of TTC and UNIT sets. Lovin' it that Cubicle 7 goes the way of (sort of) boxed sets - Old school but really classic

....Let me point out briefly, though, that while the TTC is pretty comprehensive on the general level, factoids and background material that really are only come up in a single episode, like the Reflex Link, or one off events like absorbing the vortex through the TARDIS console, are beyond the scope of this box. Instead they will be covered, specifically, in the individual Doctor Box sets in the section on that episode, or generally, by using the 'Other Extraordinary Feats' rule from the Core Box. Otherwise, we'd have an unrealistically massive boxed set that duplicates a lot of material from other sets.... This is something pertwee said earlier in this thread. So yes, there will be individual "Doctor Boxes". EDIT: This is just the most recent mention.

Seems I have missed some details in the first 16 to 17 pages of this conversation.
Will the old set remain available in pdf form or will that be pulled with the release of the new box? (hope that hasn't been asked and answered before in this very thread...)

Yep,this was good news-let's hope the 2 supplements will follow very swiftly together with the GM screen. The individual Doctor boxes would be marvellous but I'll settle for C7 walking before they run.

I just hope that we don't get huge delays anymore on the new supplements. "There's no turning back?" That's almost as bad as "Nothing could possibly go wrong!" or "This'll be the best Christmas Walford's ever had!"

Don't know if anyone else has noticed this but in the PLAYER'S GUIDE of the new edition, all the vertical headers of the pages carry the title of the FIRST CHAPTER (CHAP 1: COME WITH ME WHEREVER YOU LIVE). The Gamemaster's Guide is OK.

Wow, I'm not entirely sure how that happened. Fixed it, though. Should be an updated PDF in the near future to cover the changes.

Nope, not yet. The proofs just came in, so this is the perfect time to change stuff like that ,so if you have anything else, tell me now...

What's the turn around period then of the product? Surely it must be 2 months? So expect it, what, mid June?

Proofing is part of the process. You send it to the printers and they send back a print proof for your approval. At that point, you can catch make sure the color is coming out right, the alignment is correct and any other last minute errors are caught before 3000 copies are put into full production. It's the penultimate step to the finished product.

Should we have actually been blessed with a number how strong the print run will be? Some firms do that, WotC don't, for them sale and print numbers seem to be the holy grail. Yet another big plus for the Cubicle in my eyes

Well, I have to say that I really like the Eleventh Doctor Edition. I did have a concern regarding some of the character sheets though.
Firstly with Amy's Character sheet, is it just me or does her skills (and attributes/traits) seem a bit 'low'. She only has 11 points allocated in skills.
The GM guide (page 73) refers to Rory having Time Travellers Trait for TL 2-5 but it isn't reflected on his character sheet. He does have a lot of skill points though (27 points).
Craig only has 7 skill points. I know he has the inexperienced trait, but I still thought he should have more.
Is there a problem with these character write-ups, or am I just reading them wrong?

Craig only has 7 skill points. I know he has the inexperienced trait, but I still thought he should have more. Is there a problem with these character write-ups, or am I just reading them wrong? No problem. You just need to understand that the intent behind the write-ups is to recreate the characters from the show as accurately as possible within the parameters of the game mechanics. This often means that the characters will be more or less capable than one created by a player using the chargen rules. The Doctor is a perfect example: if we made him fit within the parameters of a starting character, we'd get far more complaints then staying true to Amy's low initial skill set. This is why, along with the characters from the show, we have included 6 pre-gen characters who are built using the rules from the book (which, in my opinion, are not really suited for creating truly underskilled characters like Rose, Amy or Tegan). That way, we can illustrate just a few beginning character concepts that are possible as well as give the players some quick start options that aren't from the show and are easy to personalize. By the way, if you count up the points to see if they are accurate, don't forget to count the 'special abilities' in the biography section which are actually my way of giving them 'Areas of Expertise' without having to explain the rule to new players who just want to get in the game quickly. Finally, all of these characters are as they appeared at the end of series 5, so that is why River is mysterious and underplayed, Rory has the Time Traveller Trait (he remembers his life and some of his skills from over 2000 years as the centurion), Craig has better knowledge and skills than he really deserves (even 7 seems a bit high for the Craig from 'The Lodger'), Amy has all the skills she's learned form being a Kiss-O-Gram and from travelling with the Doctor for a short while, and the 11th Doctor is a tad bit better than the 10th.

Pertwee: If you're still correcting typos and the like... any chance of a bigger list of playtester credits? Sorry, Craig, but the proofing process finished yesterday. All the changes that are going to be made have been made and it's now in the hands of the printers. That should be good news for you lot, though

Anyone know if this is 'official'?

Hard to say for sure, but Amazon do have a history of listing best guesses for release dates.
Aren't we overdue a newsletter from Cubicle 7? The last one I received was way back on April 26th - anybody had anything since then?
