Playtester credits: "Thanks to everyone who took part in the playtest - too many names to print, but your help was invaluable." Excuse me while I burst into tears and run into my room. Ah that sucks. A small part of the excitement of being a playtester is seeing your name right there in black & white.

I picked mine up from my FLGS in Newcastle, United Kingdom (after a odd situation where I called at 11am to see if the game was in and was told it was not then 30-35 minutes later was called to tell me it had just come in). As far as the game goes (after finally convincing those who needed to be convinced after about 4 hours not to make me wait until the 25th to open it), the game's pretty cool. That's exactly what happened to me, same city probably 10 minutes later. Was it Forbidden Planet? Unfortunately I just started work when I got the phone call but they promised to keep it by for me tomorrow.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, they say there is a warehouse issue that will prevent them receiving their shipment until early next week. I suspect this is true of most U.S. sources, though I am not sure about WhoNA. Maybe they have a direct line from the UK, since a lot of the Who merchandise is primarily sold there. Deadstop

There were some people who got a shout-out, though, so if your name is on the list it's not all doom and gloom ;D I won't know whether to cry in my room or dance for joy until at least the 14th. That's when play.com are saying they'll have it available - for the moment it's just showing as 'pre-ordered'. This game's been a long time coming...I suppose a few more days won't make all that much difference. After all, this is far from the biggest setback the release schedule's seen. Fingers crossed.

That's a little disappointing - glad to hear Al got mentioned though! I pre-ordered from Cubicle 7, and am watching the mailbox diligently in the hopes it turns up soon! I feel like it's been forever since the playtest closed... Good to see some of the familiar faces here!

So did your group. Well done. (envy hate envy ) That's a bittersweet thing, knowing that so many people didn't. It was a great playtest group - best I've ever been in. I still smile thinking back on those months. It's like the end of the original Star Wars where Chewbacca doesn't get a medal! I guess they had to do it, but it would have been great to see the whole glorious and mad crew recognized by name! I guess I'll head back to the window, to wait for the mailman...

I suspect this is true of most U.S. sources, though I am not sure about WhoNA. Maybe they have a direct line from the UK, since a lot of the Who merchandise is primarily sold there. It's the same for Noble Knight, FRP Games and any of the traditional sources that go through the regular distribution channels. I don't think any of them will get the game in until next week, at the earliest. WhoNA must have got theirs directly from the UK, as Keith has mentioned he works with lots of sources. Based on the discount, he may have even done it direct with C7. As it happens, WhoNA is now completely sold out. Hope everyone here that could or needed to jumped on it. I think I'll cancel my Amazon pre-order, but leave my FRP Games order in place. The post office in San Francisco has more than once burned me in any number of ways.

My copy has arrived, I now gaze at the rather weighty box....
I love the way the box lid is hinged, the books a bright an colourful, great paper and everything fits just right. Now to read... ;D

Has anyone who preordered directly from C7 (particularly at Dragonmeet) received their copy or heard anything from them via e-mail? Just wondering, as I'm one of those who preordered there (not that I'm in a mighty rush, as I won't get to open it until Dec 25th as it's a Christmas present from my wife).

Where did you order it from Charlie? Leisure Games of London, The only downer so far is that the cover of the GM's guide has bubbles under the laminate. Love the rules though, as is common when new games come out, and I really didn't think I would hear myself say this but, the rules would work great for a Star Wars game. Planning on doing a Dr Who meets The Tomorrow People, cross-over.

Not this week (so far), no. I got a phone call on Saturday, though. Apparently they were having problems with my handwriting. I was told it would ship Wednesday.

The only downer so far is that the cover of the GM's guide has bubbles under the laminate. Nobody else who has reported owning a copy has mentioned this (so far), so hopefully this is a one-off or very rare. My copy's bubble free. The paper stock on the two main books is really great, isn't it? I suspect it's not doable on the usual mighty tomes that game companies often put out, but I'd love to see more games use it.

I hope so, but I've just noticed the bottom of the player’s book is crushed and when I looked closer the book has a gouge running through all the pages...

I picked mine up from Leisure Games at lunchtime. Hoyed myself up there after the central London games shops didn't have it. I haven't had a chance to even open it yet, but it's reassuringly heavy which promises a decent boxful.

Still no word from Amazon or Troll and Toad.
*sigh*
