I've been reading the IDW comic books. They're ok, but the reprints from the '70s and '80s are fantastic. Anyone else reading these?

I've been buying the graphic novel collections. Sadly I've not catalogued them yet, so am not sure which ones I'm missing.

I've really enjoyed IDW's Ongoing series, which has just come to an end, and am looking forward to the launch of the new 11th Doctor series in the New Year!
As for the reprints (either Panini's TPB collections or IDW's Classics reprints), there are some great stories among them. Unfortunately, both seem to have come to a hiatus - Panini because of rights issues and IDW due to falling sales. I've heard that IDW will relaunch the Classics series in January with the 7th Doctor - sadly missing out on some of the 6th Doctor's which I've never read.

Also rather annoyingly, Doctor Who Weekly had back-up comics as well as the (fantastic) Pat Mills, John Wagner and Dave Gibbons Fourth Doctor comic strip, and these aren't collected. These include the likes of "Black Legacy", a Cybermen-starring miniseries written by Alan Moore.

Is the 11th Doctor series going to be ongoing? (not really an ongoing series if it came to an end, is it?" It's been discussed over on the Gallifrey Base forum, including by the writer and (I think) at least one of the artists. Not sure whether the length of the 11th Doctor series has been confirmed yet. There's brief interview with writer Tony Lee here, including a preview of the covers for #1 and TARDIS interior artwork: splashpage.mtv.com/2010/10/20/doctor-who-previews-tony-lee-eleventh-doctor/As for "ongoing", well that's what IDW referred to the first series as to differentiate it from the one-shots and mini-series they'd been publishing up to that point. I think their view is that as the 11th Doctor series is "Ongoing volume 2", it is still an ongoing series..

Annoyingly only a few retailers stock the IDW comics, and none locally. I've bought a few off eBay and do like them. I just wish there was an easy way to get hold of them. My local comic shop said he can only get them by special import which would make them expensive

I've picked up a couple of TPB. But the problem I'm having is working out what is what. I can't afford to repeat buying issues right now.

I've picked up a couple of TPB. But the problem I'm having is working out what is what. I can't afford to repeat buying issues right now. Do you mean what's in each TPB? Here's a list I prepared earlier: Ongoing: Fugitive - reprints #1-6 Tessaract - reprints #7-12 Final Sacrifice - reprints #13-16 (plus I think the strips from the IDW Annual) - to be published in February. Mini-Series & One-Shots: Agent Provocateur - reprints the first 6-issue mini-series by Gary Russell, just titled Doctor WhoThe Forgotten - reprints The Forgotten #1-6 Through Time and Space - reprints the 6 one-shot stories: Whispering Gallery, The Time Machination, Autopia, Room With a Deja View, Cold Blooded War and Black Death White LifeDoctor Who Classics (reprints of DWM strips): Volume 1 - reprints Classics #1-6 ( The Iron Legion, City of the Damned, Timeslip, The Star Beast) Volume 2 - reprints Classics #7-10 ( The Dogs of Doom, The Time Witch, Dragon's Claw, The Collector, Dreamers of Death; for some reason vol.2 also includes the final part of The Star Beast, which was already reprinted in vol.1) Volume 3 - reprints Classics Series 2 #1-3 ( The Life Bringer, War of the Words, Spider God, The Deal, End of the Line, The Free-Fall Warriors) plus Grant Morrison's Doctor Who #1-2 ( Changes, Culture Shock, The World Shapers) Volume 4 - reprints Classics Series 2 #4-9 ( Junk-Yard Demon, The Neutron Knights, The Tides of Time, Stars Fell on Stockbridge, The Stockbridge Horror) Volume 5 - reprints Classics Series 2 #10-13 (Lunar Lagoon, 4-Dimensional Vistas, The Moderator) Volume 6 - reprints Classics Series 3 #1-4 ( The Shape Shifter, Voyager, Polly the Glot, Once Upon a Time Lord) - to be published in December. Doctor Who Classics Omnibus collects Classics Vols. 1-3.

If they do, I'd guess it will be towards the middle of next year. But with the uncertainty around the Classics line, I'm not even sure whether they'll publish any more of the regular TPBs beyond volume 6. Time, as they say, will tell!

I saw a hard cover comic at one of the big book stores (Borders or Barns&Noble) and I can't recall the title. I believe it was produced by BBC books and not IDW. It was the Matt Smith Doctor and Amy. Anyone know what that book was called? * EDIT - Never mind. I found it. Doctor Who: The Only Good Dalek.
