Hi all.
Having just rewatched Children of Earth, it strikes me that there doesn't appear to be any Torchwood branches or operatives working as of Jack's departure from Earth, other than Gwen (who was pregnant last we saw her).
I know there's a new Torchwood series planned through the Starz network, but I'm wondering from the point of view of my game what the state of play likely would be. I have a Torchwood agent on board a TARDIS who was snatched during the Battle of Canary Wharf, and he is likely to think the network is still operative.
Would anyone care to venture their thoughts?

I am running a Torchwood campaign set after the 456 incident. In my game after a lengthy inquest, the queen become directly involved. She reestablishes Torchwood and several branches through out the world. Gwen, her husband, the secretary who busted the minster of homeland (Lois Habiba) reestablished Torchwood 3. Stephen Hawking helps to rebuild the rift machine. My campaign is centered on Torchwood 5 (formerly Torchwood 4) based in the Bermudas For more detailed info see the following thread dwaitas.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=seeds&action=display&thread=735

There is Gwen and her husband, representing Torchwood Cardiff. Captain Jack Harkness is returning. Plus there is the strange fellow running Torchwood Scotland. And Her Magesty, The Queen.

How about a Steapunkish inspired Torchwood game, based on its early days in the late 1800s and early 1900s, which is my favourite Torchwood era. I love the Victoriana of it, combined with steampunkish elements.

I've always had the idea that, during and since her pregnancy, Gwen does all the leadership/admin stuff from HQ, assisted by Lois Habiba, while Johnson heads the fields units.
Plus, a lower profile: run from a "front" of an average office building with the important stuff underground, lots of impeccable fake IDs so they don't go around announcing they're Torchwood all the time, and anonymous white vans instead of flashy SUVs,

Exposition could come from residual memories from the info stamp, and who knows what else may have "followed" the cybermen when they arrived.

Maybe I misunderstood, but I thought that at the end of Stolen Earth, Micky and Martha went off together and joined Torchwood (or possibly UNIT). I will have to re-watch it again.

They were going to, but then they didn't, so they didn't appear in Children Of Earth and according to The End Of Time they decided to "go freelance" instead.

Just saw an interview concerning the new Torchwood and Davies states that Torchwood had been disbanded after the Children of Earth series.

If you're not too concerned with the canon as of Miracle Day (such as the idea that Torchwood has been abandoned/disbanded), you might also want to consider that the closing of the Cracks in Time closed the Rift. Torchwood Three still has plenty to do outside of Cardiff, though!
Like finding Torchwood Four...

Jackson Lake, at the time of Torchwood's founding would have been in his sixties or seventies, remember The Next Doctor happened in 1857. Although, it was established in Tooth and Claw that Victoria's husband Prince Albert (who was historically known to have held much authority the governance of the British Empire) had friends with an interest in the apparently supernatural, maybe following the Cyberking incident he's recruited into the Prince's inner circle to help deal with some of this strangeness.

I did a campaign set in the not-too-distant future with a Torchwood branch headed up by the Face of Boe (who had travelled back in time). Part of one adventure was that they had to keep the existence of their Torchwood cell secret from the Jack Harkness of the present day.
