Cybermen and Cyberslaves are traditional zombies - they behave in a similar manner. Cybermats convert humans to Cyberslaves. Cybermen tend to grab and turn folk into full Cybermen. Likewise the Robomen of the Daleks. Although I don't recall seeing them for any recent Doctor. Robomen don't reproduce like Zombies (unlike Cybermen) - it takes longer than Cyberslaves and Cybermen (I can't think of a time it occurred in an episode, it was always before a story started). In the recent series - there is of course - the Nanogenes in the episodes The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances.
- the Gelf in The Unquiet Dead
- the promoted reporters in The Long Game
- the infected in 42
- the Vashta Nerada in Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead
- the infected in The Waters of Mars
- the vampires in The Vampires of Venice
If you want variant zombies, I recommend having a look at the TV Trope of "Our zombies are different"I highly recommend the TV tropes site in general for any Doctor Who inspiration. Narrative is actually a plot device in Doctor Who on more than one occasion. Perceived reality has trumped scientific reality in several episodes.

Zombie-types are one of the standby monsters of the Whoniverse, as noted. I'd add Bane drinkers from The Sarah Jane Adventures and Human Daleks from Evolution Of The Daleks for general zombie-ish behaviour, as well as the classic Mind Control style. The Cybermats converting people bit is showcased in Blood Of The Cybermen which plays out rather like The Thing with a smaller cast. Increase the number of people around who could turn Cyberslave as well as the number of Cybermen outside and it gets even closer to the classic survival horror "base under siege". It being Doctor Who I'd suggest something solveable rather than a fullblown Zombie Apocalypse, so a smallish outbreak of monsters (zombielike or otherwise) with a central stoppable source, like a controlling mind.

Thanks! Very good ideas I like the idea of run something like a technological fairy tale, inspired by series five. The Gelth or Cybermen with Cybercontrollers in a planet with Tech Level 3 or 2 are something I´m looking for.

I've been thinking of something similar, and I was thinking of an adventure where the villains are actualy robomen who are being controlled by very few daleks maybe just one. I think the robomen could make an excellent zombie like monster!

Varga plants? They're on my to do list for my Monster supplement (see my sig). Will probably stat them and upload them later. People infected by their thorns become homicidal and eventually turn into more plants. I think. It's been a while. There was a different version in the Doctor Who City of the Daleks game, apparently. K.

Just a note in case it's useful, I've now written up the Varga plants. I've covered both varieties (Classic Who and NuWho) so you can get different effects with them. The Primary Mutant (Classic Who) ones create a sort of zombie effect, I suppose. The Secondary Mutant version is more about containment.
Note Varga plants have been used by the Daleks before, so go well with them.
