I have them - Heresy does some good 9-11th doctor-like miniatures as well. Also Crooked Dice have 11th, Amy, Martha and early Cybermat in greens - you can pre-order for when they are made. www.crooked-dice.co.uk/

I hadn't heard about the Crooked "not Eleven at all, guv" figures. Very nice! And of course there was Micro Universe for Davies era characters and army builders, and even some spacecraft. They look largely okay out of their (annoyingly random) packs but can be repainted very well, as seen here and indeed here.

This just in, a bit late: Apparently the current issue of Doctor Who Adventures (issue 170) comes with five unpainted plastic 35mm high New Paradigm Daleks.
It'll be off the newsagents' shelves by Thursday at the latest, so I'm running out now!

I can't remember what website it was on, but on one of the miniature sites I saw a screenshot of a painting guide for the old Invasion Earth miniatures. Would anyone know where I might be able to find that book, the handful I've painted so far haven't been horrendous but I wouldn't mind seeing tips out of the guide...and having an actual list of what colors for what mini would make it easier than looking at a picture and trying to figure out the respective paint from a bunch of paint samples :/ Any information is appreciated P.S. : I got the Paradigm Daleks on EBAY and they look awesome, now I just need to come up with stats for them which I've been trying to do for a while, but having only really seen them in action twice there isn't much to go on.

If anyone's intending to order the Who-alike figures from Heresy or Crooked Dice but hasn't yet done so, you might want to get your orders in quickly. Over on the Outpost Gallifrey Forum, somebody's posted that they've been reported to the BBC for producing unlicensed products! A bit petty if you ask me, considering the small quantities that these companies presumably produce and the fact that they're not directly competing with any official product (Black Tree Design only appear to cover the classic series) - if they were, I'd feel differently.

The poster has now admitted that he hasn't actually reported them to the Beeb, so this may have been a false alarm. In the meantime, I've noticed that Crooked Dice have a small forum of their own and there's quite a bit of discussion about their plans for forthcoming figures which may be of interest to members of this forum. "Saurians" anyone? Or a curly haired lady in an astronaut suit going by the name of "Melody Stream"? www.crooked-dice.co.uk/forum/Blah.pl

I can't believe I forgot to post this here! Had an email from Crooked Dice last week, with an update on their miniatures plans:
Release 2 - Daisy Taylor and Robo-rodents - now being shipped. [Mine arrived at the end of the week, and very nice they are too!]
Release 3: British Rocket Group - Dr Melody Stream and retro-astronauts, plus Alien Minion (boilersuited body with swappable heads - squid-faced, mutant pig head, or blank automaton). Crooked Dice "hoping for re-entry by the end of the month".
Release 4 and beyond: Ms Samantha Starling, occult investigator, plus scary statues; cat-suited high-class jewel thief Lady Susan 'Sookie' De Michel. CD aiming for these before Christmas.
And I've just read on another forum that Heresy's Emily Lake is now being shipped.

Knasser has done a write-up of the new paradigm Daleks. They are speculative, but quite intimidating.

Crooked Dice have brought forward the release of the Scary Statues to September, as the astronaut minis need a bit more time. They've posted some nice looking pics of the greens over on their forum: www.crooked-dice.co.uk/forum/Blah.pl?m-1280564475/s-0/Should be available for pre-order in a couple of weeks.

Release 3: British Rocket Group - Dr Melody Stream and retro-astronauts, plus Alien Minion (boilersuited body with swappable heads - squid-faced, mutant pig head, or blank automaton). Sadly, Crooked Dice have announced that they're shelving the Alien Minions due to problems with the sculpt. They may get resurrected with a brand new sculpt at some future point though - a possible set of 2 bodies and 6 swappable heads has been mentioned on the CD Forum. But I imagine that's some time away yet.

First pictures of the Dr Melody Lake sculpt have been posted on the Crooked Dice forum: www.crooked-dice.co.uk/forum/Blah.pl?m-1282407784/s-new/#num5"Dr Melody Lake is a space archeologist, exploring the galaxy’s ancient ruins and long lost civilisations to help unlock the secrets of the universe. Often accompanied by a team of scientists, explorers and soldiers from the British Rocket Group, Dr Lake is never far from danger. Melody has taken off her helmet and front control unit worn by the other astronauts to explore more easily with her photonic spanner."

I've had an email from Crooked Dice to say that their "Corn Doll" Scarecrows are scheduled for release on January 1st. Two different figures at £3 each, or a set of four (two of each figure) for £10. Also, I forgot to post that their Minions figures were released a few weeks ago. A choice of armed or unarmed boiler-suited bodies, plus interchangeable heads - either Alien Minions (squid-faced, pig-faced and blank automaton) or Human Minions (youth, grizzled veteran and hard-hatted goon). Availble in sets of three for £8, or you can order the bodies individually, plus sprues of 3 heads (either the Alien or Human sets). www.crooked-dice.co.uk/store1.html

Apparently the next issue of Doctor Who Adventures (due out on Thursday 3rd Feb) comes with 17 (count 'em: seventeen!) plastic iDaleks. If they're the same scale as the ones they gave away last year, then they're about the right size for use with 28mm minis.

Having bought three copies of the one with five of them, that would be slightly galling.

Very nice - excellent work!
As they're the larger new paradigm Daleks, the size looks about right. But I know what you mean about painting the Dalek bumps. I remember painting a load of Citadel Daleks and it put me off doing any more minis for 20 years!

The issue is out today, and you get five each of red (Drone), blue (Strategist) and orange (Scientist) Daleks, and one each of white (Supreme) and yellow (Eternal). The next issue's free gift is a batch of Cybermen and Sontarans, though from the preview photos, they both look a bit blobby!
