I have a question, I have a Timelord in the group and want him to be more knowledgeable about different species in the game, what would be a great way to role play this for me to inform him about the alien?

I have a question, I have a Timelord in the group and want him to be more knowledgeable about different species in the game, what would be a great way to role play this for me to inform him about the alien? You have a simple choice, I think. Either: (1) If the Time Lord doesn't have a problem sharing his knowledge with others, weave the general description of the alien and what he knows about them - again, in general terms - into the narrative of the game. That means less complication - and when the Time Lord wants to know something more either provide the information directly or require a basic roll on Awareness + Knowledge against a Normal to Difficult level, depending on how obscure the information might be. (2) If the Time Lord holds what he knows a little closer to his chest, then either prep info on Post-It notes before the adventure and hand them to him when he meets each new alien; or, simply pause the adventure for a moment and have a quiet word with the Time Lord outside of the play area (in the hallway, room next door... whatever). The Time Lord can then choose to reveal whatever he wants and show off - with any additional knowledge handled as per the previous suggestion. Does that make sense?

My players elected to solve this issue by having the Time Lord by an NPC

The other way is to have a Time Lord without that breadth of knowledge.
