updated with Part 3. This has been one of the most fun RPGs I've played in a long time. And considering I play/run games two or three times a week that's saying something. This has really brought the magic back to role-playing for me. And Part three was classic Doctor Who. This adventure was classic Doctor Who too. Historical, mystery, alien spaceship, temporal distortion, Clockwork Robots, Torchwood, mad plots, evil Time Lords, saving millions from death and Regeneration! I really couldn't get much more into this adventure.

I really couldn't get much more into this adventure. Thanks for posting these up to your blog. I have to say that I've enjoyed reading them quite a bit. That said, I have to say that one of the ways I create scenarios for the game is to start with a basic Theme, and then figure out something around it. To be honest, you had fodder there for at least three or four stories, because I don't know whether my players would have wanted to deal with so many different elements at once. Just my thoughts, for the record. Do whatever works for you. But I do want to know how you plan to top that.

Thanks for the comments. No more Doctor Who adventure yet. This group plays weekly, every Tuesday, but I think we might be having a two week break. But for the immediate future Doctor Who will be our main game. But I do want to know how you plan to top that. I was so up for this game and I think that came out with the group when I was running it. This was such a great start it will be tough to keep the momentum going, not helped by the fact I'll be GMing Shadowrun for another group next week too. My next adventure is going to be No Earth, the group will have to persuade a Judoon Destructor Fleet not to destroy planet Earth. I'll get that written up after the game. This may only be a short filler game. My third adventure is the one I'm really going to put work into, Terror of the Delph. Silurians. But more of that closer to the time

Hullo, Ugavine, Thanks for the comments. No more Doctor Who adventure yet. This group plays weekly, every Tuesday, but I think we might be having a two week break. But for the immediate future Doctor Who will be our main game. You're welcome for the comments and thoughts. Sad to hear that you won't be running DW: AiTaS for a little bit, but that's understandable. Besides, the 2-week break if it happens will give you time to do up the next couple of scenarios! But I do want to know how you plan to top that. I was so up for this game and I think that came out with the group when I was running it. This was such a great start it will be tough to keep the momentum going, not helped by the fact I'll be GMing Shadowrun for another group next week too. Part of the problem of keeping the momentum going will be the fact that you had so many different elements going in that scenario that running a scenario with only one or two things will be very, very tough. And may let them down. But that will depend on the gaming group. My next adventure is going to be No Earth, the group will have to persuade a Judoon Destructor Fleet not to destroy planet Earth. I'll get that written up after the game. This may only be a short filler game. My third adventure is the one I'm really going to put work into, Terror of the Delph. Silurians. But more of that closer to the time They both sound like interesting scenarios, and I think that when it comes right down to it, I'm looking forward to seeing how "Terror of the Delph" comes out. Any chance of seeing that one written up as a Scenario Seed? As for me, the next two scenarios I'm running are going to be difficult... My Friday night gaming group are playing a UNIT outfit, whereas my Sunday group consists of a Time Lord and his companions. The two scenarios, "The Phoenix Murders" and "The Spores of Death" (and I'm still not sure I like the title of the latter) are connected in the sense that one's a sort of prequel to the other. "Phoenix" is set on a spaceship in the 24th century, whereas "Spores" is set on Earth. 2002 AD.

I've not included any UNIT in my first lot of adventures so it will be great to hear how it turn out for you. I want something special to bring those in, possibly have the players play an extra character each (they often run two PCs in other games), their regular one and a UNIT one.
I will try and write-up a detailed adventure seed for Terror of the Delph, but I've got a few things I want to flesh out first.
Terror of the Delph ideas - Set around the Collieries of Brierley Hill & Dudley Wood in the Black Country, UK (this is where I live) in the year 1910. - Silurians in the mines and nearby canals - a Silurian creature called a 'Delph'. (local street is called Delph Road, known locally as 'The Delph') - Delph Road was named in 1820'ish, so I'll bring in a legend of a monster called a Delph form 100 years ago (there is no such local legend BTW). - Army will have taken over Mount Pleasant School as a base of operations with a cover story of Diptheria outbreak (this local School was closed for this very reason in 1910). - Army will be using two Dennis Vans for transport (these were in use and I have a photo refenence of the van). - A Scottish Army Captain Shaw from Paisley (one of the groups relatives were the Shaw's from Paisley). - Miners from the Delph talk of monsters in the mines. One miner who is off work claims to have had actual contact. PCs will visit him in nearby Brettle Lane (because I have some 1910 photo's for reference). - there will be a mysterious death at another nearby colliery in Dudley Wood (now the location of my mates house where we game). - There will be two Silurian leaders, one who wants to destroy mankind, one who wants peace.

Hullo, Ugavine, I've not included any UNIT in my first lot of adventures so it will be great to hear how it turn out for you. To be honest, I'm having a blast with the UNIT game, although I am finding it difficult at times to come up with plots and scenarios for them without using some of the old Doctor Who stories that featured UNIT. Btw, if anyone's got some scenario plots that I can blatantly rip off, please don't hesitate to let me know about them. Thanks! I will try and write-up a detailed adventure seed for Terror of the Delph, but I've got a few things I want to flesh out first. So far, so good! Looks like an interesting basic premise, I have to say. Given that you're setting it around where you live should give it more a feel of verisimilitude (sp?), and I am looking forward to seeing the detailed Scenario Seed. Keep up the good work.

Updated the first post with our latest adventure, No Earth. This was just a single night's adventure but was great fun and I still managed to bring in lots of series references without making it look forced. C'mon, a story that features Alpha Centauri has to be good

I've updated my post with a stand alone adventure; Global Warmingrpg.geekdo.com/thread/502879/global-warmingI ran this down our local games club for six players. If you love only one thing about it, it will be the Time Lord PC, it's one of those characters I wish I'd created myself. Known as The Potter, his TARDIS looks like a gardeners potting shed, a holographic image of rows of pot plants can be seen if you look in the window. Inside the TARDIS is completed with wooden cladding. The Potter himself appears only 17 y/o, wear round glasses, a duffle coat, mittens (connected with string) and carries a schoolboy satchel. And to finsh off the character he has a Sonic Potter Wheel, a miniature one (that works much like the sonic screwdriver). If only I could show you how the guy played the character too, fantastic.

I just wanted to say that I have not abandoned Doctor Who RPG, it's just that other games have got in the way. RPGing has kindof died in what was my main group, and the Potter Who games are on hold as everyone at the games club has got heavily into Warhammer 40K, myself included.
I have so many Ideas for RPGs including Deathwatch and D&D Dark Sun, but most of them are for Doctor Who. I hope to start role-playing again soon.

Well, my DW:AiTAS campaign kicks off again this week. Here's what I havbe in store for my players.
The Meddling Graske The TARDIS crew are chasing a meddling Graske around the gardens of Longleat House. But the Graske is not the only alien there, a Weeping Angel causes the PCs to end up in pre-historic times. Trying to find a way home they discover there are aliens already here who could disrupt the whole future of the Earth. But can they survive a world of dinosaurs and convince the Sycorax to leave with them?
A cold day in Hell A new alien race threatens an Earth colony in the far future. And idea of mine to have an alien that lives in the snow and ice (they ARE the snow). They are the cause of the extreme snowstorms and cause of many of the deaths in the storms. Ideas taken from 'The Genocide Machine' by Big Finish and the Vashta Nerada. I may include Ice Warriors in this adventure as allies.
Doctor Who and the Menacers The TARDIS lands in modern times (or maybe the 70's, haven't decided yet) where they find a deadly threat to take over the world! New aliens but an adventure very much like 'The War Machines.'
The Watchtower The Time Lord is thrust back into the events of the TIME WAR. A gateway between dimensions and a threat from an all too familiar foe. Idea influenced by Plot Hooks on this site. As the Time War nears it's end PCs land on a small space station, this is the last Time Lord gateway between dimensions. As a Dalek ship approaches the PCs must decide if they stand and fight or destroy the gateway - if they can.
A lot of this is open to change depending on how the adventures go and how quickly the players are going through them. Timing is VERY difficult to predict with our Friday night group. So while we generally play for 3 hours I have no idea if they will get through a whole adventure in an evening or not.
If possible I want to include the published Cyberman adventure from Aliens & Creatures too.

I've updated my first post with Part One of my latest adventure, The Meddling Graske. rpggeek.com/thread/605031/potter-who-the-meddling-graske-part-oneThis was a fun night, made slightly tricky for myself as GM at the start when the Time Lords player couldn't make it. It's a bit of a mash of my dinosaur adventure idea with the Grakse idea tagged on. Having run the first part I think choosing to combine the adventures was the best thing to do. And using the Graske was a lot more fun than the Hoix, who was my original choice of alien for the group to be chasing. Hopefully I'll have Part Two up next week. I love running Doctor Who RPG

Hi U Just read The Terror of the Delph - really enjoyed it, as I'm familiar with the area and the history of the Black Country in general. There's loads and loads of creepy stuff that went on round here which can readily be adapted, especially considering that a lot of the old mine workings are unmapped (a lot of records were destroyed in the 1920's). I live near to a disused colliery, some of the buildings still stand and it's pretty freaky walking past it at night (esp. if you have a vivid imagination!) WYP, I'd like to run Terror for my group, complete with photographs as props.
