Hello all.
I've noticed in a few threads that people are saying Timelords must have Code of Conduct, but I can't seem to find that rule anywhere.
Could someone point me in the right direction?

Page 41 of the Player's Guide, under the Effects section for the Time Lord trait. Although, oddly, there's no mention of it in the GM's guide section on the Time Lord trait. Compare: Player's GuideEffect: Time Lord is a Special Trait that gives the character all of the abilities of a Time Lord – they can regenerate, they automatically gain the Feel the Turn of the Universe and Vortex Traits, and gain 2 levels of the Ingenuity Attribute (even if this takes the Attribute above 6). They also automatically gain the Code of Conduct Trait. They also gain a Major Gadget at no extra costs. GM's GuideEffect: Time Lord is a Special Trait that gives the character all of the abilities of a Time Lord – they can regenerate, they automatically gain the Feel the Turn of the Universe and Vortex Traits, and gain 2 levels of the Ingenuity Attribute (even if this takes the Attribute above 6). They also gain a Major Gadget at no extra costs. Hmmm ...

Possibly that discreprancy was intentional. PLAYER CHARACTER Time Lords need a code of conduct to balance out their power level. NON-PLAYER CHARACTER Time Lords on the other hand have no such restriction. How fun would the Master be if he was hampered by a code of conduct after all?

If it were considering NPCs I'd have said 'Player Character timelords automatically gain the Code of Conduct trait'.

Maybe the GM version is abridged to just cover what 'powers' they get for reference.

I was just looking in the GM's guide.

I would personally say the code of conduct is to keep the player in line with being heroic. Kind of like the Jedi Code for Jedi characters in Star Wars. It's mostly to keep players in the scope of a good guys vs bad guys game.
That's my take on it. After all, I have heard in many games before that if a rule interferes with your enjoyment of the game, remove it or bend it.
