Here is a short adventure I ran not long ago, in anticipation of the new system. I originally ran it using FASA, but I'll leave it generic. You can fill in the details such as hit points and damage on your own.
The TARDIS is on its way elsewhere when the vortex suddenly becomes rather rough... in fact, the TARDIS is spun violently around and is caught in an inescapable undertow of temporal energies. It is jettisoned through a spacetime scar similar to the Cardiff rift... a wound left over from the Time War.
Given time, the wound will heal, but for now, it is bleeding through from multiple timezones. This will NOT be apparent at first. The TARDIS sensors have been overcharged by either temporal energy, or whatever technobabble solution suits your campaign. The net result is that the TARDIS must remain in place for about 24 hours while the excess energies are leached away, and it can be used safely again. Once operational, the TARDIS can be used to stitch the wound in Time together again.
Once out and exploring, the crew discover that they are on an tropical island, and the vegetation suggests a Devonian rainforest... except the oxygen content is too high for that epoch. Exploring further, they begin to see other anachronisms... including dinosaurs which give them trouble. Similar to Jurassic park.
Things get stranger when, after a narrow escape, they discover they are being filmed by a camera crew. The crew is under the direction of Mr. Arnold Layne (references to the Pink Floyd song will be met with blank stares) and they are under the impression its 1931. Among the crew are a camera man, various sailors, an officious producer, and a pretty young actress named Eva Wendell. The crew have come to film a jungle picture on location, and discovered the dinosaurs.
They refuse to leave, obviously.
The next stage of the adventure comes when some heretofor unseen denizens of the island conduct a raiding attack, and carry off a number of important items. This is a tribe of Gigantopithicus (think prehistoric Sasquatch) that have also fallen through the wound in time. Among the items they carry off; Eva and the TARDIS. (They've seen the TARDIS materialize and think of it as some sort of gift from the Gods.)
So, simple, right? Rescue the girl, recover the TARDIS, avoid the dinosaurs, get the film crew safely off the island, and then seal the wound in time... what could be easier?

It also, for me at least, has kind of a Hollow Earth Expedition vibe to it ... apart from the time rift, obviously

I had actually been thinking of King Kong when I wrote this one.

You're welcome to!
It needs a little polish.... when I ran it, it was a bit rough. When I re-do it for DWAITAS, I'll clean it up a little, make it a bit cleaner.

You're welcome to! It needs a little polish.... when I ran it, it was a bit rough. When I re-do it for DWAITAS, I'll clean it up a little, make it a bit cleaner. How did it unfold with your players then? As I recall it was very short... took only a single session. It was a one-off from our normal campaign, and it may have been too much of a change in gears for them at the moment. They took on the whole scenario in a rather grumpy fashion, and only reluctantly decided to help the film crew, and only then because their TARDIS was missing... once they recovered it, they were rather dismissive of the film crew in general. The dinosaurs never really attained the sense of wonder or threat level I had hoped. They did enjoy the Gigantopithicus/King Kong connection once they worked it out. I think in the future I'll push that connection more. Perhaps stage a fight between the tribe and some dinosaur, and then maybe end up in a battle on a high promentory. In addition to Eva, any other female companion would also be fair game. It should lead into the Beauty and the Beast subtext of the original Kong. At the end, the players said they had fun, but as it was a one off, they didn't really feel a connection to characters or have a handle on the setting yet. I think re-running it in an established campaign would make it better.
