An item from the recent news.
Perhaps more suited to Call of Cthulhu than AITAS but the Whoniverse includes many odd groupings and cults, Countrycide for example.
Panamanian police investigating reports of kidnapping and assaults by an almost unknown religious sect that called itself "The New Light of God" found an "improvised church" at a ranch in Ngäbe-Buglé Comarca
, a province on the Caribbean coast of Panama, around 250 kilometers from Panama City. The sect had been operating in the remote and difficult to access area for around four months but matters seems to have erupted on Friday 10JAN when one of the church members had what's described as 'a vision' of a message from God.
On Saturday sect members rounded up over twenty Panamanians, members of the Ngabé Buglé indigenous group, and took them to the ranch. It's not known exactly what happened but the police found a "religious ritual" being carried out in the church that involved the torture of a woman. Seven dead bodies, five of them children, were recovered from a mass grave on the ranch and fourteen survivors of abuse were released.
According to a Panamanian prosecutor, Rafael Baloyes,
A ritually sacrificed goat was also found.
Weird and horrible.

"They were performing a ritual inside the structure. In that ritual, there were people being held against their will, being mistreated".
"All of these rites were aimed at killing them, if they did not repent their sins".
