Here's one that I just got inspired to post.
Name
Vacation Station Omega
Synopsis
The party seeking some downtime decide to visit the renowned station Omega "A luxury resort that caters to any civilized taste. pools, theatre, cinema's, shopping, small parks and much more await the discerning customer who needs some time to rest and recharge their batteries." Shortly after arrival however it soon becomes apparent that things are very wrong here with visitors and staff dissapearing with only the party even seeming to remember they ever existed. Questioning people about the missing prompts confusion followed by denial that they were ever there. Denial supported by checks revealing no photo's, records or other sign they existed in the first place. Things are made worse by the discovery the party's method of arrival has also vanished along with the fact those they talk to about the issue genuinely seem to forget the discussion as soon as the party leave them.
Notable Beings
General Manager Bixby
A friendly alien (or if one party is an alien other than a timelord use their species). Affable, chatty but always busy he will be quite happy to pause a moment to say hello to his patrons but will also promptly apologize but he simply must check on something (other guests, a problem in the kitchen, reports of a fault in the guest rooms and so on) before departing.
Security Chief Carl
A human slender and fast paced who is precise, dedicated and gives every assurance and apperance to the party that their concerns will be thoroughly investigated . . . if only she actually remembered talking to them about the problem after they left.
Snagglethrop the 23rd
An alien being resembling a bright pink mastadon that's about half the size of a human. This being is energetic, eccentric and makes a point to approach the party soon after their arrival and spend time with the delightful lessers when the party first arrives insisting on them coming to his floor of the resort for dinner. Only to be the first dissapearance and hopefully draw them into investigating the problem, if not the dissapearance of their transport hopefully will.
The reveal
To save on space and costs Vacation station Omega actually transports all staff into AR pods on arrival for a linked in artificial holiday station with no limits on size and space. To ensure a suitably enjoyable holiday this resort hese pods also draw on the energy of these visitors while in the pods to power the stations functions. Unfortunatley at the time of the party's arrival the holiday resort is fallen on hard times and been shut down. With just enough lingering power to provide the usual welcome (teleportation, and integration into the pods on arrival) for one last set of guests i.e the party but not enough to run everything afterwards. Which is why the actual station is begining to fall apart and the program the party is in is suffering from faulty computer cores causing artificially generated NPC's intended to provide a good social interaction and enjoyable adventure are to be removed to generate more runtime. A removal that in the program appears as a person just vanishing and being fogotten about.
The final crisis
Regardless of whether the party figure out the situation and a way to escape the program or not they will eventually find themselves on the now critically failing station (lighting giving out, oxygen and other equipment malfunctioning) and have to race from their pods to their ship/transport/personal belonging storage facility before everything fails catastrophically and the station loses all power for good.
The signs
Depending on your party you can give them hints from the subtle entering an area where for a moment everyone is still then they all start moving at once or trees swaying against the wind to obvious like giving them different character sheets changing race, sex, abilities etc and saying this is who you are when they wake up.
