A Gallifreyan Doctor in King Arthur's Court
The Setup:
The Tardis crew lands in 6th century England. They discover that, much like Robin Hood in "Robots of Sherwood", the legends of King Arthur and Camelot are based on real people, places, and events. But these people have a problem. Ever since the coming of the Evil Star, Camelot's enemies, the Saxons have been in league with the Demon Knights. The Saxon's evil priest has even been making human sacrifices in order to summon more of these foul things. The only thing that will kill a Demon Knight is a weapon that has been blessed by the head priest of the local chapel.
What's really going on:
The so-called Evil Star was a Cyberman scout ship that was disabled by solar flares and crashlanded in Saxon-occupied lands. The Saxon shaman was the first to encounter the Cybermen; they spared him on condition that he bring them more people to cyber-convert. He has been bringing them the "human sacrifices". The reason blessed weapons work on Cybermen is that part of the blessing ritual involves dunking the weapon into a basin of holy water - which happens to be made of gold.
Extra fun - use as desired:
The Master is also here, and has one or more people under his control. Maybe Morgan La Fey and Mordred were actually innocent?.
Merlin is another Time Lord who was thought lost, but actually his Tardis conked out, leaving only the chameleon circuit and the desktop theme operational. It's currently disguised as a cave with crystaline formations inside (Merlin's Crystal Cave). When Merlin's apprentice "traps" him in the crystal cave, she is really putting him in the Zero Room to regenerate.
Morgan La Fey is really The Rani. She may be stranded here, or she may be here voluntarily to study the effects of something like smallpox or Bubonic Plague.
