Hello all.
As the title suggests, I'm wanting to find 'casting choices' for a (in my mind) third Romana regeneration.
In my campaign so as to avoid using the Doctor, I'm using Romana as my primary Time Lord/Lady point of connection as I'm not dropping my players into understanding that universe right away.
I find it timely and a great way to at least in terms of the story to introduce the concepts of Time Lords and regenerations and it's safer than regenerating the Doctor in any way.
Don't get me wrong; I grew up having a profound crush on both Mary Tamm and Lalla Ward, but I think for my story it's time.
I'd love to see a top five list of actors for her to regenerate into, and I'm open to suggestions. Helen Mirren has come to mind, but then so has Kate Beckinsale (harkening back to her first regeneration).
Suggestions along with personality suggestions too?

I'd love to see Romana back, still my favourite companion. Felicity Jones might get my vote, she can do quiet and unassuming but own the room when she wants to. Hannah Murray would be great at 'I'm the cleverest person in the room, and thats why I'm a bit crazy" But thats also why she'd be my choice for a female doctor. Maggie Smith would also nail the 'Right doctor, you are wrong and I'm going to tell you why" (she and Capauldi would be amazing together, especially with Missie too) I'd also add Carey Mulligan, mainly as she is just so good in everyhing, but what a bonus to discover Sally Sparrow was Romana all along...

I could imagine Hannah John-Kamen as a very feisty young Romana, somewhat similar to Matt Smith being a very young, excited and slightly mad version of a very old person.

Interesting you should ask! Romana made her debut in our campaign in the last episode, "The Life and Deaths of Gustaf Ursnt." She's set to pop up throughout our upcoming seasons. I've always pictured Jaime Murray as Romana, so that's who "plays the role" in our campaign. (You're bound to see her in some of our upcoming cover artwork.)

Rhonda Mitra would be my top pick for the new Romana.

I think Emilia Fox would be great as Romana - an excellent actress who exudes confidence, intelligence and class.

She was the face of our first Lady Penelope!

Indeed, Emilia Fox would also make an excellent Romana...
And how about Rebecca Hall?

I'm leaning heavily on Jamie Murray, given her turns on Warehouse 13 AS a time traveller, HG Wells...and her excellent duplicitous turn as Stahma on the lamented and too short-lived Defiance.
I would love to find any audio or video of her acting Romana-ish that I could use as reference.

I'm wondering if you have any audiovisual reference for her in the role? I find her an interesting mix of stylish sensuality (akin to Mary Tamm) and absolute playfulness (from Lalla Ward). My primary lean towards her is Romana's own preference for tailoring her regenerations (and it's listed as one of her Traits) and I can see post Time War that being considerably older, she'd either by choice or circumstance regenerate.

Thanks, and so sorry to be delayed in a response....I've been busy writing for my game and for another that I'm building from the ground up.
I'll be looking these up, thank you.

After seeing "The Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries" I can't help but think Essie Davis for the part.
