Hi, everyone! So I'm almost FINALLY ready to share a fan-sourcebook I made for my Three Universes RPG. This one will cover the Female War Doctor who appeared in my little short fanfic prologue I made a while back played by the great Dame Maggie Smith. This sourcebook will take inspiration from a number of both official and fan DW Stories to give you some game scenarios you can play during the events of the Time War. I've decided to do another little prologue made to celebrate the soon release and I have generalrose to graciously thank for giving the photoshopped images of the female War Doctor and is currently working to get some of the modern-day companion pics to me so I can hammer out the female Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Sourcebooks and then finish up the classics before FINALLY giving the Three Universes Sourcebooks. So with that said, I present to you my female Doctor Universe version of Night of the Doctor featuring Helen Baxendale as the female Eighth Doctor after her only appearance in the 1996 TV Movie and Arthur Darvill as Caz. I don't know who would play the leader of the sisterhood of Karn in this universe, but I am open to suggestions. Enjoy!
"Help me! Please! Can anyone hear me?!"
‘Please state the nature of your ailment or injury.’
The man with short and cropped hair wearing what could be described as a futuristic gunslinger's costume swore under his breath as he tried to work out the ship's controls.
"I'm not injured, I'm crashing!" He clarified. "I don't need a Doctor."
‘A clear statement of your injuries will help us provide you with the medical practitioner appropriate to your individual needs.’
"I'm trying to send a distress signal! Stop talking about Doctors!"
"I'm a Doctor." A new voice said.
Caz turned around to see someone he knew wasn't onboard before. It was a woman who seemed to be around 42 with long brown hair and hazel eyes. She wore something reminiscent of an old Earth Shwashbuckler's outfit. Yeah, like the ones Caz had seen in holo movies as a kid.
"But," she added with a smile, "Probably not the one you were expecting."

"Where are the rest of the crew?" The Doctor asked.
"Teleported off!" Caz responded, panic rising in his voice.
"But you're still here." She pointed out.
"I had to teleport them."
"Why you?"
"Everyone else was screaming." Caz replied with a soft laugh.
The Doctor returned a warm smile and offered him her hand.
"Welcome aboard!" She said.
"Aboard what?" Caz asked.
"I'll show you." She said, in almost a whisper.
Despite the insanity, Caz almost laughed as he took the woman's open hand and she began leading him out quickly.
"Where are we going?!" He asked.
"Back of the ship!" The woman responded.
"Why?!" Caz asked.
"Because the front crashes first," The Doctor said, "Think it through!"
They were almost at the cargo bay when a metal door slammed shut before them.
"Oh!" The woman declared, fishing for something in her coat pockets, "Why'd you do that?"
"Emergency protocols." The man stated.
The woman brought out a small handheld object which looked like a metal wand with some doohickey at the end. She pressed a button and it began emitting a small wailing sound.
"What's your name?" The woman asked as if they had time for small talk.
"Caz." The young boy answered.
“You’re young to be crewing a gunship, Caz.” The woman noted, expecting an answer as to why he was here.
Caz shrugged.
“I wanted to see the universe.” He admitted, “Is it always like this?”
“If you’re lucky.” The woman said, with a hint of a warning in her voice.
Suddenly, the door opened and the two entered the cargo bay. Caz noticed that there was a rather large blue box inside that had not been there before. It was wooden and some of the paint appeared to be peeling. Backlit words on the top read ‘Police Public Call Box.’ Whatever that meant.
“Don’t worry.” The woman assured, “It’s bigger on the inside.”
Caz froze in place. He suddenly felt a sinking feeling in his chest.
“What did you say?” He asked, “Bigger on the inside? Is that what you said?”
The Doctor was nearly at the police box now with her other hand on the brass handle.
“Yes! Now come, on! You’ll love it!” She urged.
Caz could barely bring himself to ask the next question.
“Is this a TARDIS?”
“Yes, but you’ll be perfectly safe, I promise you…” She began to assure.
“DON’T TOUCH ME!” Caz screamed, all friendliness now replaced by anger and hatred. He knew what this woman really was. What her kind was doing to the entire universe around them. Everything was dying because of her kind and this woman might as well be equally responsible for what was happening.
She looked at him with an assuring look on her face. This was beginning to happen more often now with the Time War. This deep-seeded hatred was causing more and more people she met to turn her away.
“I’m not part of the war.” She told him, “I swear to you, I never was.”
Caz shook his head.
“You’re a Time Lord.” He spat.
“Time Lady, actually.” She corrected, “But I’m one of the nicer ones!”
“Get away from me!” Caz yelled, stepping outside the cargo deck.
“Well look on the bright side;” She pointed out, “I’m not a Dalek!”
“Who can tell the difference anymore?!” Caz yelled, slamming a big red button.
Suddenly, the doors closed, separating The Doctor from him.
“Caz!” She screamed.
“It’s deadlocked!” Caz told her, “Don’t even try!”
“Caz! Please!” She assured, “Just open the door, I’m trying to help!!”
“Go back to your battlefield!” Caz ordered, “You weren’t finished yet! Some of the universe is still standing!!”
“I’m not leaving this ship without you!” The Doctor assured.
Caz just gave a small smile.
“Then you’re going to die right here.” Caz told her, straightening himself out, “Best news of the day.”
“Caz!” She screamed, banging on the doors, “Caz! CAZ!!!”
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
On the planet’s surface, a group of red-hooded men watched as the ship crashed into the surface giving off a large explosion. A somewhat portly man with red hair smiled as he stepped forward.
“And here she is at last…” He declared, “The woman to end it all.”
He addressed his followers.
“My brothers.” He said, “The Doctor has returned to Karn.”
After a bit of a walk, they found her beneath the wreckage of the ship. Unconscious. Nearly dead. But she wouldn’t die. Not yet. They still had a mission for her. The Universe needed her now more than ever.
We have always known in our bones that one day she would return. The man said to himself, Such a pity she’s dead.
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
“CAZ!!!” The Doctor screamed, sitting upright.
She realized she was in a new location. It was a cave by the looks of it with red-hooded men standing around her holding goblets that poured out some kind of mysterious grey smoke. A red-hooded man kneeled before her.
“If you refer to your companion.” He explained, “We are still trying to extract him from the wreckage.”
“He wasn’t my companion.” The Doctor said, sadly. Her body felt weak and hurt a little.
“He’s almost certainly dead.” The man pointed out, “No one could’ve survived that crash.”
“I did.” The Doctor stated, feeling like she knew this man from somewhere. She couldn’t quite place it given the pain she was in.
“No.” The man corrected, “We restored you to life, but it’s a temporary measure. You have a little under four minutes.”
“Four minutes?! That’s ages! What if I get bored or need a television? A couple of books? Anyone with chess? Bring me knitting.”
“You have so little breath left.” The man said, sternly, “Spend it wisely.”
Suddenly, she recognized something in his eyes.
“Hold on…” She said, getting back up on her feet, “Is it you? Am I back on Karn?”
She looked at the other men around her.
“You’re the Brotherhood of Karn.” She declared, remembering the times she had been her before both in her fourth incarnation as well as this one, “Keepers of the flame of utter boredom.”
“Eternal life.” The leader corrected.
“That’s the one.” She said with a smirk.
“Mock us if you will, Doctor.” The man said, getting to the point, “But our elixir can trigger your regeneration. Bring you back. Time Lord science is elevated here on Karn. The change doesn’t have to be random.”
He motioned to some of the cups being held.
“Fat or thin. Young or old. Man or Woman.”
The Doctor shot him a suspicious look.
“Why would you do this?” She asked.
“You have helped us in the past before.”
“You were never big on gratitude.”
“The war between the Daleks and the Time Lords threatens all of reality. You are our only hope left.” The leader pleaded.
The Doctor shook her head.
“It’s not my war.” She pointed out, “I will have no part of it.”
“You can’t ignore it forever.”
“I help where I can. I will not fight.” She said, defiantly.
“Because you are a ‘good woman’, as you call yourself?” The leader asked.
“I call myself The Doctor.” She told him.
“It’s the same thing in your mind.”
“I’d like to think so.” The Doctor admitted.
“In that case, Doctor,” The man said, seeing his followers returning with the other body they had found, “Attend to your patient.”
They laid Caz down on the table. The Doctor took out her sonic screwdriver and scanned his body. Nothing. No life-signs. Nothing she could fix. There was nothing she could do. She remembered when Grant Holloway had fought back death along with the street girl Chang Lee had held back death. It was those small moments in life she enjoyed the most, but now that the Time War had been ravaging everything for so long, it seemed impossible for a miracle to happen anymore.
“You’re wasting your time.” The leader pointed out, “He’s beyond even our help.”
She pocketed her sonic screwdriver and stroked his cheek, looking at his lifeless body sadly.
“He wanted to see the universe.” She said, sadly. Just as she had wanted to all those years ago.
“He didn’t miss much.” The leader assured, “It’s very nearly over.”
“I could’ve gotten him off, but he wouldn’t listen.” She said, her voice cracking.
“Then he was wiser than you.” The leader snapped, “He knew there was no escaping the Time War. You are a part of this, Doctor. Whether you like it or not.”
“I would rather die.” The Time Lady said, defiantly.
“You’re dead already.” The man said, “How many more will you let join you?”
Suddenly The Doctor realized something. She realized that a million years and miles away was her second home. Earth. She thought about everyone on there. Everyone would still be at risk from the Daleks and she had reason to believe the Time Lords would have no problem or worries about sacrificing the planet in her absence. No. She couldn’t die.
“If he could speak,” The man asked, “What would he say?”
“To me?” She asked, “Nothing. I’m a Time Lady. Everything he despised.”
The man looked at her as if she was a fool.
“He would BEG for your help.” He snapped, “As we beg for your help now. The universe stands on the brink. Will you let it fall?”
No. She wouldn’t. She realized now she had to enter the Time War if she wanted to keep it standing in one piece. She would have to die now and let another person take her place.
“Fast or strong? Wise or angry? What do you need now?!” The man asked in a soft, but demanding voice.
The Doctor simply walked over to Caz’s lifeless body and pulled his ammunition belt off. Looking at it in her hands, she remembered when she had stolen her Wild Bill Hickok costume in San Francisco after emerging in her current incarnation. She had found a similar item but discarded it remembering that she would never use such an item EVER in her lifetime. Now, she would have to use tools of destruction rather than healing if she was to bring a quick end to the war.
“Warrior.” She said, softly in an almost whisper.
The man looked at him, waiting for her final answer.
“Warrior?” He asked.
She nodded. Every part of her body was telling her to let herself die, but she couldn’t. She had to face this change and let a new person take her place.
“I don’t suppose there’s any need for a Doctor anymore.” She said, recalling Caz’s words before she introduced herself to him.
She looked at the Brotherhood of Karn.
“Make me a Warrior now.”
The man handed her a cup brought by one of his assistants.
“I took the liberty of preparing this one myself.” He pointed out.
She began to bring the cup to her lips, but stopped.
“Get out. GET OUT!!!” She screamed, before lowering her voice again, “All of you.”
The Brotherhood left, but as their leader stood in the entrance to the cave, she asked one final question.
“Will it hurt?” She asked.
“Yes.” He answered.
“Good.” She said.
She looked at the flask remembering all the times in this life cycle. The laughs, the screams, the fun…and then the dark days. She swore when the war was over, she would do everything to cover up the incarnation who took her place. No one would ever know the things she did, and she would try to repair whatever things she did under this next persona she was about to become.
“Charles…” She said, “C’rizz, Thom, Lenny, Morty…friends, companions I’ve known, I salute you.”
She took one last look at Caz.
“And Caz,” She added, “I apologize.”
She turned her attention back to the cup.
“Physician heal thyself.” She whispered.
With that, she drank from the cup and felt her body go numb. She dropped the cup and felt the warm glow of the regeneration energy overtaking her body. She stared at her hands which were now glowing. She suddenly collapsed to the ground with a loud ear-piercing scream until a bright yellow glow enveloped the room, and then faded.
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
The leader walked back into the room, looking at the figure collapsed on the ground.
“Is it done?” He asked.
Slowly, the figure wearing the Doctor’s clothes got up. She looked at Caz and took the bandolier again. Her clothes seemed a bit bigger for her now, but she strapped the bandolier on herself tightly, making the clothes more suitable for her. This was the woman that the Time Lords needed. Their greatest renegade now turned into the ultimate self-made weapon to destroy the Daleks. She walked up to see a quick reflection of her new face in the stone work. Her new face was one full of long, wavy light-brown hair on her head, and light brown eyes. She looked at her reflection, for a minute. She would no longer be referred to as The Doctor. She would do what she had to, but knew that whatever she did, she couldn’t be The Doctor any more until the War was over. So until then, she would be what the woman before her had asked to be. A Warrior.
“Doctor no more.” She said, almost softly under her breath.
Introducing Dame Maggie Smith as the War Doctor.
