Whatever the answer, coming across a dead silence is usually awkward

If a silence falls in the woods, does anyone hear it?
What is the sound of 3000 silents clapping?
Knock, knock. Who's there? A silent. (no response.)

Whatever makes the story more interesting is the answer.

Even worse is an injured Silent. The poor thing just keeps calling for help, but as soon as someone runs to get the first aid kit they can't remember for the life of them why they needed it

This is giving me some nice RP ideas, people knowing they just have to do something but they can't remember - or explain to anyone else just why it is so important.

The only caveat I'd have - is that it's temporary, rather than a permanent suggestion. The Silence seem to need to be present for continual suggestion (such as for Melody's orphanage) - and it could be a clue that it's the Silence rather than some other form of mind control.

Also - finally finding out where the Silence comes from, I can't justify the random killing in the women's toilet anymore. They shouldn't be evil - they should be driven to a particular religious goal with an obsessive compulsion (they are confessors after all - trying to stop the Doctor from bringing back Gallifrey)

If you come across a dead silence Do you forget you saw the dead body or would the silence Not have the ability Being dead Not be able to make you forget that you saw it The best answer is "whatever the plot demands," but since we have no reason to believe that removal of dead Silence became a big problem after the Doctor tricked them into ordering their own extermination in 1969, I would say that the logical answer is that people forget seeing a dead Silence just as they would a live one.

Ah - that might explain it well. Plus their ability to suggest (as well as effective invisibility) gives them enough power to become corrupt.

Presumably, since after the Moon Landing, people weren't reporting finding alien corpses everywhere and not having any idea how they got there, either the Silence are REALLY GOOD about not leaving their dead behind or the power carries on through death.
You know how sometimes you're just walking along on a smooth floor or sidewalk, no obstacles, no incline, and you suddenly take a half-stumble? Maybe you tripped on a Silent corpse.

Maybe their corpses evaporate soon after death?
