I'm looking for a light-hearted - possibly Children in Need - themed episode idea for this Tuesday's session. My group just finished a fairly dark and sinister two-part scenario, so I want to do something light and fun as a breather episode before we move onto the next three episodes, which are going to be a bit more serious in tone. Unfortunately, I'm not so great at coming up with comedy ideas, and I'm feeling a bit creatively burnt-out from NaNoWriMo at the moment, so I'd appreciate some help. A few things I have to work with, based on the players' interests and their characters: - Arguments between PCs could result in a TARDIS tantrum of some kind. - One of the players wants to see Tesla in the game (though there's an idea from one of the song titles threads I might adapt for that) - She also want to see dragons (preferably nice ones) - Another player wants to see Slitheen in the game (as well as Keanu Reeves, Miley Cyrus, Nicholas Cage, Napoleon, Lincoln, Freud...and possibly Jesus) Ideas I've rejected already: - The characters ending up in an alternate universe where Doctor Who is a TV series (because that'll fit better later on) - Anything involving parallel universes (unless it's something from one, rather than the PCs going there) Any recommendations? Thanks in advance. P.S. An idea that just occurred to me is having the PCs trapped in the TARDIS and encountering different past Doctors and/or companions after some sort of accident has them all nesting together a la Time Crash. Would be a nice nod to the 50th anniversary, however could be complex to pull off.

Some possibilities: My first thought was putting them somewhere awkward - like in front of the cameras as witnesses to a news story which is of course one of their adventures from a different POV. Something to do with 1963 - the Big Finish audios have been playing around with this lately. Crossing over with a previous adventure and trying not to be noticed - best not to accidentally stop Ian and Barbara going to Totter's Lane... An adventure that falls a bit out of genre - like an alien sighting that turns out to be a Scooby-Doo style hoax. ( As opposed to the other way round.)

With my players, every episode is a comedy episode.

Classic comedy tropes (as in Shakespeare used them)-
Mistaken identity Male pretending to be female or female pretending to be male - and being put in awkward romantic positions Humourous names that everyone takes seriously Love spells Memory loss (after doing something embarrassing) Practical jokes

My players did a special one shot Children in Need adventure a few years ago where they accidentally landed backstage on the first hour of Children in Need to discover that several of the guest hosts such as David Walliams and Davina McCall had been stricken ill with some mysterious illness. In order to preserve the show and most importantly win favour with Sir Terry Wogan, the players were forced to perform onstage and keep the audience entertained until our Bane character could discover what exactly was wrong with the other hosts.
Particular highlights included:
.Our Bane and Slitheen players performing a duet of 'Bring Me Sunshine' .Our veteran Time Agent performing a juggling act (Very poorly, I might add.) .And finally The Meddling Monk (having recently regenerated into Reece Shearsmith) performing amateur magic.
The show was a success and they were thanked by Wogan personally. As they left for their TARDIS, they accidentally bumped into replacement host David Tennant causing The Meddling Monk to quickly make his exit much to our other characters confusion and bemusement. And what was the mysterious illness, you might ask? It was in fact simply food poisoning with the hosts having all eaten dodgy curry the night before. The reason our Bane character could not identify the symptoms was due to faulty equipment. It was a very silly one shot over all, but we all enjoyed ourselves and it made a nice change from our previous very grim adventure.
