Hi everyone,
First time here, first game question... have any rules appeared for creating spaceships?

Welcome to the Forum! To answer your question - nothing official, no. But have a look at this thread for some suggestions: [Request] Chula spaceship

What I use for my games: If the spaceship is an important adventure setting, it gets Base traits from the UNIT-sourcebook. Some things like Mobile Base or Main Reactor come to mind as being valid for any ship.
Additionally, I give ships an Armour value, a Hit Capacity, a Speed, an Ingenuity attribute (Computer), an Awareness attribute (Sensors) and a Coordination attribute (Acceleration/Maneurability).
All these values I consider as being on a Spaceship only scale, meant for comparing ships with each other, not with characters.
Ships who are not central for an adventure plot get only the stats mentioned above, no Base traits.
I am very much looking forward to Rocket Age for the vehicle rules Ken Spencer hinted at on the Cubicle 7 boards.

When I started work on a Vortex adaptation of the starship Destiny from Stargate: Universe (for a campaign inspired by that series, but with UNIT taking the role of Stargate Command), the thought struck me:
Why not simply regard a starship as a non-time-travelling TARDIS, a Space Travel Capsule, so to speak. Then use the whole bucket of TARDIS-rules, leaving out the time travel specific things.
The result of this train of thoughts is the following starship entry (and what do you think of it?):
Vehicle Stats: Armour: 35 Speed (sub-light): 12 Hit Capacity: 25 Ingenuity: 4 Awareness: 4 Coordination: 2 Strength: 6
Skills: Knowledge 7, Science 6, Technology 5, Transport 2, Marksmanship 3 (Artillery)
Story Points: 20
Gadget Traits:
Forcefield (Major) Control (Minor) TransMat-Technology Travel (Minor) Space
Base Traits:
Good: Advanced Technology (Stellar TransMat) Computing Power Database Access Defence System (antimissile) Holding Cells Internal Sensors Laboratory Landing Pad x2 Lockdown Medic Mobile Base Vehicle Pool (2 Shuttles)
Bad: Alien Threat Harsh Conditions Isolated Main Reactor Ongoing Mission Unreliable Resource x 3 (Database Access, Defence System, Mobile Base)
Physical description 1,144 m long 744 m wide (stern) 162 m high (stern superstructure)
