Ugh. They were cute once, but they've already outstayed their welcome. I was dismayed to see them again in the Christmas episode. (And I can't stand what's-her-face the soon-to-be companion.)

Aww, cheer up, Stormcrow. I love the trio and am especially looking forward to Clara. Looks like a fun season ahead!

A little heavy-handed, but amusing.
I hope they manage to avoid turning Strax into a complete joke. The Sontarans of TSS/TPS were actually quite fearsome in their way.
Treading the line between humorous and pastiche is not always easy. Particularly with that ever more used flutey music they're using behind anything 'whimsical'.

Strax did make for some excellent comic moments in the Christmas special. I find it somehow alright to use a Sontaran for comic relief where I wouldn't want a Cyberman or Dalek in the same role. We need a good, solid Sontaran episode to bring them back into focus.
"Madame Vastra sent me to see if you needed any grenades." <pause> "She may have said 'assistance'". Loved it.
