It was ok. I thought it started off really well but as it went along and the reveal was just disappointing.

It was ever so slightly barking. Which is, of course, a good thing. Loved the sepia film-like summary.

Not sure exactly what it is about it, but I loved it. The alien parasite thing was a bit silly looking but other than that it all seemed to just gel together very well. Also, I loved getting to see Strax go violent!

I continue to want a Paternoster Gang series Perhaps with young Thomas Thomas as the team navigator.

It really enjoyed it. It was a bit weird, kept me guessing and had some genuinely creepy images. Dame Diana's performance was wonderful. Would have liked Mr Sweet to have been a known adversary. Loved the sepia film-like summary too.

I almost suspect Moffat is trying to set up the Paternoster Gang as the next Sarah Jane Adventures.

A known adversary? Goodness, no! No more scraping the bottom of the barrel. Give us new adversaries!

It was a bit of a laugh.

I liked that it wasn't a male bad guy for a change - that hasn't happened since New New Earth (or possibly the Silurian 2 parter) and it wasn't a world destroying badness.
But as a work colleague pointed out - it was good up until the Doctor appeared. Suddenly it's farcical, with character pastiches and poses, and the evil madwoman suddenly becomes a caricature of herself - gone is the public speaking puritan with a plan.
Also, there seemed to be very little for the majority of characters in the story. Strax was comic relief as usual - but it was mainly a Doctor and Jenny episode.

Strax really made the episode for me. Well written and well played.
