"There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, and the sea's asleep, and the rivers dream; people made of smoke and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice, somewhere else the tea's getting cold. Come on, Ace. We've got work to do."
Possibly after call the midwife finished :-) (is that the same actress?)
Also, I agree with stahlman, less Doctor romance! Although it was good to see that occasionally monsters are just misunderstood.
My wife, however, thought that this episode does help with the "no romance" between them, as she doesn't take his hand.
Another thought about the visual TARDIS interface being used again for a companion rather than the Doctor when he's dying - is this a character development for the TARDIS, rather than Clara? May we see the TARDIS become more like Compassion?
Best of the series so far. I agree there's definitely a series idea with Dougray Scott and the lass from Call the Midwife - some 1970's style Carnacki the Ghost Finder, perhaps?
Loved the SFX for the creature - reminded me of the lass from Ring in the way it moved - and the little flickers of it around the house were suitably creepy. And the photos of the ghost? Excellent work there.
The only person Clara would trust and take advice from = Clara? That and the TARDIS not liking her? Great stuff.
Bit rushed at the end, though, but that seems to be a common problem with the show at the moment.
More like that one, please!
Just remember who’s standing in your way, remember every black day I ever stopped you and then—AND THEN—do the smart thing: let somebody else try first.
