In addition to "The Last Doctor" campaign idea over at the website of Berin Kinsman, I found some GM tools one is a generic campaign tracking Tiddlywiki, and the other is a tiddlywiki set up to aid in creating campaign settings and adventures. To take a look at the tools just scroll down to the GM Tools section. unclebear.com/?page_id=563

I've just come up with some simple rules for generating plot decisions with a normal deck of cards. They're generic and could be used for anything- curufea.com/doku.php?id=roleplaying:plotgeneratorThe only tricky part is to work out which suit you want to represent which genre

That is so cool! I'll have to use that when I'm stuck for a name for an adventure. Thanks for the link. Cheers, Tim

Blimey. Just had a shot at the Vortex Oracle and got this:
The Master
* A charismatic entrepreneur in over his head. * A dream of laughing fire that stalks any who dare sleep. * Technology from the future is falling into the wrong hands. * The sting of unfulfilled ambition.
Ummm... has RTD been using this thing?

Yesterday I threw together a brainstorming tool that uses a bunch of die rolls to try and come up with the raw background for a game session's adventure.
2d6 "Enemy" Concept 2 One that looks like the other (roll again, twice) 3 Temporal Anomoly 4 Microorganisms 5 Lots of Aliens 6 Human 7 Monster 8 Alien 9 Recurring Adversary 10 Robot 11 Race Against Time 12 Two different enemies (roll again, twice)
2d6 Setting 2 Space Station 3 Swamp Planet 4 Ice Planet 5 Primitive Earth 6 Victorian Earth 7 Modern Earth 8 Future Earth 9 Human Empire 10 Volcanic Planet 11 Space Ship 12 Alternate Reality
2d6 McGuffin 2 Lost Treasure 3 Change in history 4 Enemy Leader 5 The TARDIS 6 Technological Device 7 Someone in need 8 Knowledge 9 Survival 10 Stop the evil plan 11 Challenge to the throne 12 Powerful Ally
2d6 Aliens 2 Time Lord 3 Slitheen 4 Judoon 5 Human-like 6 Cybermen 7 Dalek 8 Sontaran 9 Weeping Angel 10 New Alien, built around one trait 11 New Alien, built around two traits 12 Roll Again, Twice
2d6 Traits 2 Incorporeal 3 Psychic 4 Advanced 5 Ancient 6 Sneaky 7 Powerful 8 Artificial 9 Manipulative 10 Robotic 11 Cybernetic 12 Roll Again, Twice
2d6 Source of Conflict 2 Luring out The Doctor 3 Laws were broken 4 Political Conflict 5 Misguided Research 6 Resource Shortages 7 Philosophical Disagreement 8 Misunderstanding 9 Territorial Conflict 10 Weird Alien Mentality 11 Mind Control 12 EXTERMINATE!
2d6 Theme 2 Romance 3 Political Thriller 4 Mad Science 5 Epic Quest 6 Horror 7 Action 8 Comedy 9 Mystery 10 Revenge Plot 11 Accidental Adventure 12 Roll Again, Twice
2d6 Plot Twist 2 Doppleganger! 3 Suddenly, nature! 4 Unexpected Surrender! 5 Suddenly, aliens! 6 Surprise Ally! 7 Betrayal! 8 Suddenly, a malfunction! 9 Missing person! 10 A murder! 11 Paradox! 12 Roll again, twice
The whole thing can be used to try and build a rough framework for an adventure, or tables rolled on as needed (eg, what kind of alien ship is it?)
Example use: Enemy - 7 (Monster) Setting - 6 (Victorian Earth) McGuffin - 9 (Survival) Aliens - 6 (Cybermen) Traits - 8 (Artificial) Source of Conflict - 10 (Weird Alien Mentality) Theme - 7 (Action) Plot Twist - 9 (Missing Person!)
Putting it together:
The Doctor and his Companions arrive in Victorian Earth, where they encounter a stranger wandering alone at night. Something seems off about this stranger, and so The Doctor feels compelled to find out what. After getting to know her for a bit, she wanders around a corner, screams, and disappears!
Upon investigating the situation, the remains of a Cyberman are discovered along the path of the missing person.
It turns out that the creature behind the kidnapping was the stranger's lover, who upon being captured by the cybermen for upgrading resisted the procedure with unexpected tenacity. He had developed a Mr. Hyde-esque formula which granted him unusual strength to break the restraints, but still ended up significantly upgraded. The effect of the formula on his rationality caused him to reject Cybermen control, and due to his upgraded status he can no longer return to his previous form.
Due to the action theme, there should be an intense battle scene between the "upgraded" Mr. Hyde and a large army of Cybermen, and lots of opportunities to run from the conflict.

I have change a little making all 2D6 die roll in a 1D20 I wanted a Adventure without the doctor but some of his old companion (Canton, Ace & Zoe) in New New-York. But like I haven't much (At first I was thinking River send them vortex manipulator for helping her & the doctor), I try your way. Attachments:plotgenerator.docx (95.88 KB)
