Do we know how many episodes series 7 is? I'm hearing we only get 5 this fall and a Christmas special. Anyone know if we get another 8 in the spring? And if we get a full 13 for Series 8 for the 50th anniversary?

Five this year plus the Christmas special. The other seven or eight of series 7 at the start of next year. Several specials next year for the anniversary. Series 8 the year after (i.e. 2014).
That's what I heard.

That's what I heard. Thanx for the update. I was wondering what they were doing. I've been feeling really WHO deprived lately. But at least it's nothing like the 90's where we only got one movie.

Why are we not getting full seasons anymore?

We are, just in bits.

Why are we not getting full seasons anymore? We are, they are just split in two. Series 6 was split because of story reasons and 7, according to rumours, because of deadlines, producers leaving and fired staff. Splitting it up is a way to get more time to work around the problems. And of course the biggest rumour, so that Moffat can spend more time on Sherlock. Just to make clear, the above are rumours I've heard and not official or anything. I can also vaguely recall something about scheduling, summer and better viewing figures, but I am not so sure about that.

I still think series 6 was split in two just to give the wheat field in Let's Kill Hitler time to grow.

POND LIFEA week's worth of vignettes about the Doctor dropping in on Amy and Rory at irregular intervals before Asylum Of The Daleks this Saturday.
