Thanks for the kind words folks. A lot of work went into making this edition as professional looking and mechanically accurate as possible. You are most welcome. It's fabulous Mr Torson (I presume?)

That made me smile. I needed that. Thanks. In which book is the write up? Gamemaster's Guide probably?! No. That's the second layer of the joke. Don't feel bad, I read that myself and thought 'What the... I didn't write anything about the Silence in ... oh, wait, I get it. Ha!' And I laughed again

I particularly enjoyed the long, detailed writeup on The Silence. At least, I left myself a note saying I did. That made me smile. I needed that. Thanks. In which book is the write up? Gamemaster's Guide probably?! It's quite detailed. Pages 165-185 of the GM's guide.

Well, I got the upgrade and I find myself a bit disappointed in the Dalek section. In the show it seemed that the new Paradigm Daleks were the far stronger than the older Daleks, this does not carry over into the stats at all. I was looking forward to getting my players used to the older Daleks, then throwing out the Paradigm Daleks to make them squirm. I may just end up modding their stats just to make them far stronger than they're listed as. The new character sheets look nice, but I liked the idea of being able to write out your traits and how they work. In my mind the new ones are a little cramped. However I love the write up for the weeping Angels. The write up in Aliens and Creatures seemed to skimpy to make really threatening villians. Also I loved the section in the upgrade about the silence, a full 20+ pages of information. Though you'll have to invest in a modded eye patch from Kovarian Inc. Well worth the $9.95 I had to pay. The only downside is my life is now kinda quite, one could even call it "silent".

The first adventure in the Adventure Book seems to cut off mid-sentence, I notice. Anything on that yet?

It's has an unfinished sentence on page 22. Bug. I don't see the cut off sentence at the beginning of 'Knights,' but I did spot the error at the end. A slight bump of the text from the picture frame moving too high. I'm correcting it now... EDIT: Done and done. As for New Paradigm Daleks being 'more powerful,' they are bigger and more 'pure' and have a different hierarchy, but there is really no evidence of them being actually superior in any significant way to the other Daleks. Not as of Series 5, anyways. Now, we might see a whole lot of special abilities popping up in the next series, but until then, suppositions about any new 'strengths,' like new 'tools' they can access through their mid-section or the actual physical capabilities of the mutant inside, are just that, suppositions, so we have to err on the side of what we know. And all we know is that they are taller, more colourful and have a blaster that sounds more menacing and is seemingly capable of blowing Daleks apart on full power (but as they already have a Lethal result, there's little to change there). No fear, as upgrades to the Daleks will no doubt occur as soon as Aliens and Creatures is updated (or a Dalek book is released). But for now, they are a mysterious and unknown quantity that the Gamemaster can exploit to keep his players on their toes...

This is really about a year and a half late, but free stuff helps a lot. And a mere $5 for the adventure book is almost too good to pass up (assuming it is as meaty and delicious as the 10th doctor edition).
I can barely sit and read a pdf, compared to a book, so the proof will be in the publishing (of this one and of expansion books). For now I can upgrade my status to: finally satisfied and cautiously optimistic for the future.

So, not to be pushy, but when are the hard copies shipping? I ask cause everything takes longer to ship to Alaska.

From what I've heard, May or June, depending on how long printing and shipping take.

Weird. When I download it, it only gives me the characters. Sigh.

Somehow I am not listed among the playtesters. Again.
This must be how the Silents feel.

This happened to me as well. For whatever reason it only initially downloads one of the four items in the Upgrade pack. Just go back into the Drivethru site and view your orders. You should find the download links for the other 3 items in the upgrade pack there.

I for one am also satisified. Now I am looking to the distant horizon for when the UNIT book will be out. Any news on that and the Time Travellers boxed set will be sent to the printers?? I hope its not another 2+ years.

I notice that the webstore still says "Winter 2011" for Defending the Earth and The Time Traveller's Companion. I know nothing's in stone on them yet, however, I'd feel more comfortable pre-ordering if those release estimates were updated.
