So, what do you hope season 5 will bring to the table? What do you want to see dumped? For me, I'd like to see new villains (not just relying on the Daleks to be the season big bad), and less of the companion's family

Plus, I want to go at least two seasons without changing Doctor or companions. If we are going to revitalize old Who aliens/threats, I'd like to see Silurians and Sea Devils [and give them proper names please] as well as Ice Warriors and Ice Lords [who also need proper names]

I'd like: - more adventures that don't take place on Earth.
- background music that stays in the background.
- less deus ex machina.
- for the Neil Gaiman rumours to be true.
- Sparrow & Nightingale to appear.
- at least one new monster that drives younger viewers behind the sofa (my boss's son can't watch Blink all the way through...and is nervous around statues now).
- 'real' Cybermen.
I'd also like to see less Daleks...however I suspect the Terry Nation estate had a stipulation in the licence where the BBC has to use them at least twice per season (ranging from quick flashbacks to main villains). I'm not quite sure if I'm joking here or not. I have faith that Mr Moffat & co. will deliver something brilliant, regardless.

A non-wisecracking, cockney female companion with an extended family from the 21st century. (Rose, Martha, Donna) I like my doctors with alien/historical companions who have a back story and less dependence on the Doctor. And no more repressed sexual tension!
....and a big scarf!
Seriously? More 2 parters that allow the storylines to breath and expand. Some of the best in the recent series have been 2 parters. Im thinking of John Smith with his fob watch especially. One of my personal favourites.

Ice Warriors either as good guys or badguys i dont really care just find a use for them.
Find a way to introduce the Real cybermen into the mythos and have them pull a Godzilla on the fake ones(like the japanese godzilla did to the us one).
Intorduce a new threat to the doctor and carry it through the season building the tension and threat up till the last 2 or 3 episodes when the threat is finally revealed and dealt with without a clean resolution(in other words no killing it off!)
If you must use darleks keep them to small units like the cult of scaro not a huge fricking fleet.
Hopefully the doctor and companion will stay around for more than one season aswell.
Oh and one last thing, add some continuity with the other shows by dealing with the aftermath of children of earth at some point during the season.

Things I’d like to see
Zygons please !
Jenny !
I agree with the more two parters or even a 3 part episode would be great
Them to continue to have the number of historical episodes they did in 4
Fallout from the whole Shadow Proclamation thing
A team up story with all his previous selves (yes I know this is a huge longshot)
Things I feel they should do without
No love interest companion this time please (one of the reasons I liked Dona so much)
Keep the Daleks gone for the whole season (let them come back late in 6 with a bang)
Less “Time War hurt us! WAAAAAA!” motivations for aliens please
I’d actually like to see less or no crossovers with the spinoffs for a while
To be honest thou I trust Mr Moffat and co as well and think the show could not have been left in better hands

Lets go a whole season without Rose, or even a mention of Rose, PLEASE. No Romance subplots.
I could do without the Daleks. We always need more of the Master. Ice Warriors would be nice. Actually, in short, more classic villains that are not Daleks and Cybermen.
I like seeing nods to the past in the series, so we can have more of those.

From what Mr Moffat has said - he will be going more new monsters and less classic.

I'd like to see a definitive answer on what the hell happened to Ace. Also if they bring back the Time Lords it might be cool to see a regeneration of Susan.

From what Mr Moffat has said - he will be going more new monsters and less classic. to be honest that is what he has done in all his episodes so far and those episodes are among (if not the ) best ones of the new series so i cant realy fault him on sticking to what works for him

I have to agree that the Daleks have been overdone of late. Let them rest for a while.
Bring back our Cybermen!
More classic monsters... Zygons, Silurians/Sea Devils, or Ice Warriors.
Bring back the Time Lords!

The time is right for Zygons! In Terror of the Zygons a message was sent to the refugees from the home planet that Earth was ready for them. All that was needed was the polar ice caps to be melted and the average temperature to be risen. That all seems to be happening now.
So humans aren't to blame. Its the Calamari.

First off, can we have at least more than just the one regular companion on the TARDIS crew? I rather liked it when the Doctor had a team to work with, instead of just one assistant most of the time. Second, definitely ease up on the Daleks and Cybus Cybermen. Third, less of the high and mighty attitude regarding guns or other weapons, because we all know the Doctor has used guns when it was absolutely necessary. Four, I'd rather they found a different way to hint at the arc plot than just throwing in 'Arc Words', or having a warning from the episode's mysterious psychic. Also, one from my flatmate, apparently he wants to see more of 'Time Lord Victorious'.

i just listend to an intervur with Steven Moffat on BBC radio 3 and he spoke a bit about the new series
acording to him his tenure will have more of a feel of a dark fairy tale
he thinks the threat he has for season 5 is bigger and more threatning than the Daleks in season 4
he confirmed that the Weeping Angels are comming back for season 5

Nearly all good news. I'm annoyed about the seasonal threats somehow needing to be consecutively worse than each other. It's too Buffy.

It's on the BBC iPlayer, the first part of last night's Nightwaves.
And a search for Steven Moffat on YouTube confirms that it's been sneaked on there for out-of-UK listeners as well.

My hormones are thinking Katie Melua and Keira Knightley! LOL!
However, realistically speaking, Zygons, Ice Warriors, Draconians, the Great Intelligence, Cyber-Neomorph Cybermen (aka Earthshock style), the Doctor emptying his pockets (I always love that!), etc.

It's too Buffy. sory bit of a mis-quote from me actualy what he said was he felt they had a better threat and the thing he loves about dr who is the threat dousent need to be huge( ie galexy destroying) and can still be a big threat to the doctor

We've got a lot in American shows currently - two in Fringe, the Mentalist, Avatar, Eureka, Alice in Wonderland, etc. My theory is that it's because they can't do our accent but we can do theirs very easily I've only seen the odd LFN - my worry is that the companion will be taller than the Doctor. I guess it has happened before, some were shorter than others.

Hullo, Kaemaril, I was also a huge fan of La Femme Nikita, and of Peta Wilson's as well. That said, I couldn't see her as a companion, she always seems a bit too competent in her roles, but can you imagine her as a Time Lady? ::swoons:: Or perhaps as a villainous Time Lord? A new incarnation of the Rani?

Indeed, I might almost venture to guess a timelord might prefer it

That's why she's wrong to play a companion, and I think a villainous Time Lady works better with her. Plays to her strengths.
