The Robin Hood Agenda
The TARDIS crew materializes in Nottingham, England in the year 1210AD. With any luck, the players will split up, but if there needs to be, a brief fight might ensue between bandits and soldiers, with some of the crew escaping with the Bandits, and others being captured by the soldiers.
Plenty of people will be thrilled by the prospect of meeting the real Robin Hood... which is where the fun comes in.
See... Robin Hood really isn't interested in stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, he's more of the steal from the rich, keep it myself school of thought. While not an evil man Robin is a hard on his luck case, and considers himself as needy as anyone. He's not really hero material.
Meanwhile, Prince John is in town (King John? I need to check the dates of his reign.) John is most interested in pushing his progressive policies... things like subsidized farming, rehabilitating prisoners, and providing universal health care. His only interest in Robin Hood is in making him into a useful, productive member of society. Its just Robin's social position that makes him rob people after all...
Caught in the middle is the Sherriff of Nottingham, who just really wants to do his job. Prince John keeps interfering on the one side, and Robin on the other, and he's just fed up with both of them.
The TARDIS crew should reunite (easily done, as John will be more than happy to release them from prison after a few token platitudes toward rehabilitation, or better still, genuine interest in his new policies!) and compare notes.
Somehow, they have to make the legend of Robin Hood match up with the reality of it. Perhaps they can create an understanding between John and Robin... with the Sheriff standing boggled in the middle.
The real threat could be King Richard returning, and planning on dealing very harshly indeed if the bandit situation around Nottingham isn't taken care of.
Personally, I think this is a chance for a great comedy scenario, with lots of misunderstandings and historical nonsense. I lighthearted nothing of a story that could nevertheless be a lot of fun for all the people involved.
