Has anyone considered altering the Initiative order to reflect various styles of Doctor Who universe games? I find the existing system works very well reflecting games in the style of Doctor Who or The Sarah Jane Adventures. I think it would work well in a game mimicking the Third doctors adventures with UNIT. However, I'm not certain it would work well for a UNIT or TORCHWOOD game. Thoughts?

I have in theory, but I haven't tried it. I'm waiting for Primeval to see what it does, because talking to the dinosaurs isn't a reliable action.
One change would be to halve the separations into Defensive (Talking/Running) and Offensive (Doing/Fighting).
I've also considered Traits that let characters act out of order, maybe to push Doing up where Running or even Talking could go. (This was the result of thinking how to stat up Wallace And Gromit, where Gromit can't Talk but gets to Do earlier on...)

Primeval is getting an RPG? Yes, from C7, in a hardback format, adapting the DWAITAS system, out in the summer, as announced lat month at Dragonmeet.

Wow. I didn't know that.

I'm not a fan of the series (although I have watched them all) but I think I'll make an excellent RPG setting. I believe the mighty Gareth Hanrahan who just finished writing The Laundry is writing this one. So I'd buy it just on that! :-)
