The game has now been officially released in both the UK and US so go right ahead and discuss the game freely.

... Me?
Just back from Black Lion in Edinburgh. (Having preordered another copy for one of my group.)
Shiny, pretty. Decent amount of stuff - not a lot of empty space in the box. Good card Story Point chits.
Playtester credits: "Thanks to everyone who took part in the playtest - too many names to print, but your help was invaluable." Excuse me while I burst into tears and run into my room.

Called the warehouse; hasn't shipped yet. Something about "waiting for boxes". He also said it had to go to the UK first and then BACK to them...?? More customs delays, most likely. I am a bit bummed and now wonder if I'll see my game before Christmas at all Allen

I'd really like to get a clarification from angus on this. i shall have hurt feelings if it shows up at my FLGS before my copy arrives.

I am a bit peeved. No dispatch notice. I did expect my preorder to arrive today or tomorrow.
I'm rethinking my policy on preordering based on the fact I can no longer see what the incentive to do so is.

i asked Angus to take a look at the thread and see if he has any idea whats going on at the warehouse. He's good people and I'm sure he'll get to the bottom of it.

Hmm. Leisure Games just mailed me to let me know my DW pre-order has been shipped. Tomorrow, or Friday at the latest, Royal Mail willing. Hopefully the C7 pre-order will be with me soon, too

As someone who travelled the 300 mile round trip and paid £50 for a night in a hotel especially to attend UK Games Expo 2008 (18 months ago) to see the Dr Who AITAS demo games that were advertised and never happened; has seen the 'swine flu'; 'copywrite issues'; 'customs problems' etc I wasn't really holding my breath today. I will be happy if I get my pre-order before Easter.......2012

Sounds (I hope!) like somebody at their warehouse has got the wrong end of the stick ... I have done so...no response yet. To be fair, there may not be that much that C7 can do from the UK to make the US warehouse get their act together. Hopefully they can, but I am not blaming C7 for this. It's just annoying. The good side of this is that I know now that they do in fact HAVE my preorder on record Allen

I'm rethinking my policy on preordering based on the fact I can no longer see what the incentive to do so is. Generally, the advantage of a pre-order should mean you get yours early. I believe the guys send out the pre-orders when they get copies in the office, about the same time anything might be sent out to games stores. Its also a good way for people without a nearby FLGS to make sure they have a copy on the way.

Its also a good way for people without a nearby FLGS to make sure they have a copy on the way. Well, obviously we won't be getting ours early. I'm sorry to complain about this, but the website said Dec. 7th for US preorders which was two days before the UK date. The implication here is that the US warehouse would be receiving the books first. What I was told was very different, assuming I understood it correctly. As I understand it, it went to the UK first and then back to the US (having been held up for two weeks at US Customs), and now did not ship two days ago like it was supposed to and has not yet shipped as of today. As a customer, I would be very appreciative if someone somewhere along the line could track down the true story of what has happened here, let me know about it, and give me a reasonably accurate estimate of when I might actually get the product I have paid for. Hmm, that would explain why Troll & Toad hasn't received copies to send out yet (my pre-order is with them).
Happily, they are only about 2 hours away from me, it turns out, so at least it shouldn't take long to get to me once they get their shipment in.

I picked mine up from my FLGS in Newcastle, United Kingdom (after a odd situation where I called at 11am to see if the game was in and was told it was not then 30-35 minutes later was called to tell me it had just come in).
As far as the game goes (after finally convincing those who needed to be convinced after about 4 hours not to make me wait until the 25th to open it), the game's pretty cool.

Allen That does sound a pain, sorry to hear that. I've no real idea whats happening specifically with Who as it is a large order and rather different from the books we produce. They may have planned to have some boxes sent straight to the USA but that didn't work. I'm sure Angus and Dom are doing everything they can to get the game out as quickly as possible, after all, they can't make any money if they don't sell it! :-) I appreciate the pain though. I've seen playtest versions and even run a game using Angus' copy of the set, and I'm still salivating to get my hands on my own copy!

With such a highly anticipated game any delays in receiving the game after such a long period will understandably be very frustrating.
By all means talk freely, just dont venture into insulting territory.
Thank you, Admin

I apologize if anything I said was considered insulting. I am just getting frustrated and having a bad day on top of that. Allen

Allen You weren't being insulting at all Allen and I was not referring to any post by you. I'm having a pretty bad day too, but they never last. Members can post whatever they like about being frustrated - as long as it isn't directed at anyone, isn't insulting and doesn't become sinister, unkind or unfair. I'm certain that no one at C7 is twiddling their moustache hatching plots to ruin our gaming pleasure.

I'll be getting my pre-order comparatively early. It's all relative Sooner than other Australians, but later, I suspect, than anyone in the UK or US...
