Shalla was part of a project to advance the android Movellan race in an effort to defeat their Dalek enemies. But something went wrong. A Dalek attack resulted in a massive Movellan defeat. During the attack, Shalla was deactivated, and placed in a stasis pod.
The pod was jettisoned into space to hide Shalla's design secrets from the Daleks.
And years later this pod turned up in the cargo hold of a scavenger ship where, by chance, the Timelord, Abelardiganoel has materialized his TARDIS.
After helping the Timelord stop an attempt by the Cybermen to hijack the cargo ship and use it to invade Earth, Shalla decided that the most logical strategy she could use to find her way back to the Movellans was to travel with Ablelardiganoel.
And a few adventures later, she had become every bit as loyal to the Timelord as she had ever been to the Movellans.
Shalla is an upgraded Movellan android with a slightly more human-like appearance.
She has the usual white hair, but it is not as stiff, or artificial looking. Her body is smaller, more agile, and appears more muscular than the average Movellan due to her enhanced, sturdier structure.
She has the ability to change her clothing, and she often wears garish costumes, and even revealing costumes if they aid her mobility.
Her Movellan powerpack is located on her back, and not on her side, front, or midsection. The power pack is smaller, and square shaped. And it is harder to remove than those of a standard Movellan.
Shalla's personality is stiff and emotionless. And she is very resolute and can be quite stubborn when she is set to a particular goal. She is also unswervingly loyal to Abelardiganoel.
She is aggressive in combat, but she approaches all problems with a meticulously applied logic.
